I love this system a lot! It's a perfect way of helping out those poor little assassins with very little gold, to get gold (and my character loves splashing the cash around liberally). I used to trade in rat tails for doing crafting of magic potions, wands or scrolls. The xp hit can be quite hard at time, so I get my character, to ask the other character, to provide gold + rat tails…and I treat it as a 'spell component'…to offset the life drain of the magic IC. It all makes sense.
