Re: svirfneblin and surfacers?
No the Earthkin Alliance, is different. It was all three settlements (Blingstonhold, Brogdenstein and Burrowhome) entering into an alliance. That's different to being permanently 'vassalled' as it were, to Brogdenstein with no say in the matter.

Re: svirfneblin and surfacers?
Also, Xalanthia is an arch mage, has travelled to most of the planes of the known multiverse and knows more secrets than most other characters know (and guards them jealously). I created her, back in the day where she was an apprentice of General Dredoc of the Abyssal Forces (a crazed gnome whose na...

Re: svirfneblin and surfacers?
Besides the untrusting nature of svirfs. I'd like to correct some posts above. On the whole, Svirfneblin are neutral , not evil OR good. Some sway towards good, some sway towards evil but the vast majority are neutral of some type or other. They've always had some kind of positive relationship with ...

Re: Weave Master question(s)
Doesn't 'be able to cast 9th level spells just mean, you have to have a level or three (in this case) in a class that -can- cast 9th level spells? E.g., 3 levels in Sorcerer, Cleric or Wizard?

For years, I've been working on building up something of a network. Finally, there now seems to be enough critical mass to make it fun and sustainable. For all those both knowingly and unknowingly (yep, quite a few people do not know whom they work for) working to this end, I'd just like to thank yo...

Re: Policy on Assassin Contracts.
I love this system a lot! It's a perfect way of helping out those poor little assassins with very little gold, to get gold (and my character loves splashing the cash around liberally). Assassinations are my favourite way of operating so those characters who are evil with too much gold on their hands...

There's no RPR bonus above 40 I thought? What's the two additional tables for? MOD is a straight twenty and isn't affected by RPR.

Re: Are the UD races OP ECL wise?
Also bear in mind that these are monster races we are talking about. You're playing races that should be hated and feared by surfacers. Yes, you're outnumbered as a UD'er but most of the monster races (svirfs excepted) have an ecological purpose to the story and that is, to be a formidable opponent ...

Re: Issue withRats while Epic could get more xp than with bo
I used to trade in rat tails for doing crafting of magic potions, wands or scrolls. The xp hit can be quite hard at time, so I get my character, to ask the other character, to provide gold + rat tails…and I treat it as a 'spell component'…to offset the life drain of the magic IC. It all makes sense.

Re: Shadowdancer questions
I've gone for a sneaker style build that also does fine as an archer. The 10/+3 DR works great in PvE if you take 10 levels of SD. More than that, and it becomes detrimental, (unless the summons rework for Epic Shadow Lord makes it as deadly if not more deadly than most existing summons but I am abl...

Re: What classes need balancing?
The SD class, has been foreshadowed greatly by the Warlock. The warlock has all the defensive strengths of shadow evade + the damage of its Eldritch blast. The SD class, can get after twenty levels 14/+5 DR and no 50% evasion that a bard can get with umd and an invisibility wand. It's become a defen...

Re: Experience Difference in UD and Surface
I'm not seeing this 30 to 40 xp per kill you talk of, I'm getting on my level 5 svirf 8 to 10 xp I think. Hardly ever seen 30 to 40 xp except when going into exceptionally hard areas with a lower level toon. At level 4 in the sewers of Andunor, I was getting 9 xp per kill and that's with kobolds tha...

Pandemonium, is just awesome and extremely bloody scary! I'll be taking House Zygorkh'Ga through there soon as a group but after figuring out how to get into it, I'm just amazed at how, dismal and bleak it is! That howling wind sound, is cool too. The inhabitants are stupidly scary! Then again, anyt...

Well, Karla the character, certainly made a major impact on two of my characters. First, Xalanthia to this day, has been exiled from all Table lands, lost most of her holding and in fact, the faction quickly died out, the minute the dreadnought got taken off her. The spectacular rise and change in p...

Portal between Blingstonhold & Brogdenstein
Has been broken for months. It takes you to the OOC start area instead if you try to go from the village into Brogdenstein. If it could be fixed, that'd be swell. It really is currently limiting interactions between Shield and Gold Dwarves and Deep gnomes, despite the fact that everything set out in...

Amia has some amazing personal character customisations. Played there for years. Really enjoyed it but found the levelling far too fast (so that everyone is 30th pretty much). Anyways, have fun, it's a blast, especially the personalised character customisations and new classes and domains.

Re: DD Damage Reduction
Back when I played Olga Anvilbreaker, she was the last one standing, most times...she'd even give mages and priests a run for their money. Depends whether you're going to be the tank of the party or the damage dealer. What's the purpose of the character... in PvP the extra 3 pts don't make a huge di...
