Re: Spell components
Spell components come from crafts that allow you to not bust your spine as a wizard. Even if they might seem like a legacy system, such small things make you engage with other elements more actively. Besides, getting enough in a skill to craft components also nets you additional sources of income, s...

Re: Shadow Mage Darkness+Shadow spells CL
I see what you mean. These spells are not stated as exempt from the -6 CL rule on the Shadovar page, while they are on the Shadow Mage page. That's a Shadow Mage exclusive, right?

Re: Wiz & Sorc Adjustments
Actually, I think most mechanics savvy players would never assume this update was done with pvp in mind. Think about the wizard, who didnt invest in Discipline, so they can give their party as powerful buffs as possible, not even participating in the battle at all, not entering any risk of getting ...

Re: Wiz & Sorc Adjustments
With this (wizard) change I really wasn't thinking of PvP, though I know it's what many think of first. I was actually asking team to help find a way for wizards to cross class more easily - I find skills a real fun factor and wizards have a hard time taking advantage of that. I believe my first su...

Re: Would like to see -setclass or -setstat return in some form.
+1 If your playing a wizard and suddenly you start playing a fighter then you really shouldn't know all the things you new as a wizard, makes role playing the same character very grating to anyone meeting it for the first time, I mean why does this fighter know all about the planes and every detail...

Re: New pixie model
Know that for every issue, bug, or negative comment many more players are pleased. It just so happens that the happy masses rarely speak up about their contentment. Yes, that. It is an interesting update, and with fey being a Greater Award it does open the gates for some fun shenanigans. As for fee...

Re: Would like to see -setclass or -setstat return in some form.
The only weight, pull and connections that they have which makes them unable to -remake is because they're holding on leases or items that are the -reason- of their status rather than themselves. It is an inconvenience, you can't eat your cake and have it, too. If people you affiliate yourself with...

Re: Would like to see -setclass or -setstat return in some form.
For those playing older characters whose build was suddenly broken by an update, take that as a sign to retire them. This server is already biased against new character/players in a variety of ways, and it only compounds this by allowing ancient characters to continuously adapt. And beyond that... ...
Re: WM?
Also... delete antimagic rods. These belong in the era of artefact comedy Arelith. Or we should add rods of Noodle Arm, which savelessly reduces AB by 40 and APR by 5…. Sounds terrible? Yep, that’s why we need to get rid of anti magic rods. Buy a guaranteed win vs a mage with 50k? #balance No, just...

Re: Summon Adjustments
I used that strat on a long run for huge amount of time. And it works... But you are a EVIL PM, you have to spend around 3 4 feats on that and you have to spend 15+lvls in PM lvls. So its a huge chunk of lvls, feats and money, just to be that dirty tricky. Dirgesingers also get the Mummy Dust speci...

Re: Summon Adjustments
Really hoping we can get some Dev input on this eventually. I know their waiting for the initial pushback to die down, but hopefully they have something in the works to repair this obvious overstep. Im fine till i can summon vamps via wands to kill almost any epic boss. https://youtu.be/4lTVsxqylMQ...

Re: We need better rewards for grouping for dungeons
A couple of thoughts from a player who hates to solo, but also hates being stuck because I can't solo nor find a group. One of the main reasons mentioned that people solo is the lack of access to find others grouping in the same range. I feel we could make daily rotating "Hotspots" or some such, th...

Re: The Arcane Tower
I remember the tower about 5-6 years ago: it was a large, thriving community with a constant influx of commuters from the surrounding areas. It was even before the remaster of the place itself, with all its fancy magical elevators. Arcane magic was predominantly in the Wizards’ hands back then, and ...

Re: Writ Descriptions - Room for Improvement Zone

Re: We need better rewards for grouping for dungeons
The Big Guy himself says here he doesn't want to make low/mid level dungeons none-soloable. In fact I've not seen ANYONE argue for that at all. I certainly am not. I feel the argument here, the discussion, is very, very, very much focused around Epic Level/End Game dungeons. I am happy to hear that...
Re: Shop Tax
It does feel like shops are just glorified display cases to show how many addy ingots this character has accumulated. Accompanied by 5-10 items that have no business being there at prices that are set. No, saying that "seek out people who will craft X for you much cheaper" ignores the fact that shop...

Re: We need better rewards for grouping for dungeons
I would be devastated if any further measures to destroy soloing and make leveling in dungeons slower would be taken. This is a very personal case, but I am sure a lot people can relate: my gaming time is limited, and I would rather spend an hour quickly running through a few dungeons for whichever ...

Description of Bug Experienced: Hi~ I've found announcements saying that Darkness and shadow-themed Evocation school spells should be exempt from the -6 CL/DC rule for Shadow Mages. Re: Bard +3 CL vs Dispels is bugged?
If you have levels in a class that gives you turn undead, and therefore the capacity to run Divine Shield or Divine Might, regardless of whether or not you take those feats you do not get the bonus to CL. Same is true if you get Charisma to Saves from Hexblade, Paladin, or Blackguard. Check the scr...

Re: Bard +3 CL vs Dispels is bugged?
It's been a while since I tested this but what I think that it actually tests for is if you have some source of CHA to saves, I'm not sure though Ah, you mean as in the Divine Grace or Dark Blessing? That wording is confusing haha. I'd still love to receive a confirmation whether it is a bug or not...

Bard +3 CL vs Dispels is bugged?
Description of Bug Experienced: Bard class wiki says that: Bard receives a +3 bonus in defense vs. Dispels if they have at least 21+ bard and they do not have a divine dip class: Paladin, Blackguard, Zhentarim Enforcer, Harper Paragon, Cleric, or Hexblade. Re: Feylocks No Longer Have A Damage Spell
I played 2 blasters and didn’t max out dex. That’s not necessary. Yes, you don't need to max out dex to play a blaster. Though one of the main points of feylock was that you traded some blasting power (compared to infernal, abyssal, fathomless) for a miss chance utility on blast and better spellboo...
