Falchion and Blade Thirst

Casted Thirst on a greensteel Falchion, runed, with 1d4 damage and with a +4 Permanent essence. Got the message "Invalid Target - This spell must be cast on a slashing weapon" Examined the Falchion, and it sure is slashing.
