Gruesome Technique/Nightmare Tactics not applying for acid/fire bombs

How to reproduce: Throw an acid or fire bomb with either Gruesome Technique or Nightmare Tactics.

Expected result: The grenade explodes and triggers a will saving throw vs fear.

Actual result: The grenade explodes with no will saving throw vs fear.

The only grenade Ive found that reliably executes this effect are thunderstones. Fixing it for acid/fire bombs would be a great start.

Addendum. Choking Powder does work, but it requires the target to fail the save first.
