Major Award

Now that 5% Major Awards are automated, does one still have to go through the approval process for things like Vampire?

And, if so, is the current wiki procedure correct?

"For this, you should send a PM to any DM in the forum or to the Active DM group. The content of your PM should explain that you got the major award, that you want a vampire character, some loose background and your intention for the character."

Thanks!

Any of the automated 5% races (Imp, fey, maybe vampire? Dunno if that one is still in rotation) just requires you to log on in game, create a new character, select major award and then select the 5% race you want from the automated ones, no PM required.

It's not an option so...wondering what the status is? Perhaps I'm too liberal in my reading about automating the Major Award options?

Unless this latest update broke this system as well?

This may change in the future... in fact I think it's likely to change but.. currently
Vampires - Requite Dev permission
Imp - Require Dev permission (though the wiki says 'DM permission' but I'd go 'Dev' anyway to be safe.
Teiflings/Aasimar require Dev Permission
Fey do NOT require dev permission
RDD do NOT require permission
The minus ECL shouldn't require permission either.

We do intend to do a slight overhall of this soon I think though, so watch this space.

Thanks Grumpy!

I do think the wiki needs tightened up. There seems to be erroneous information on this, as well as several competing templates.

Definatly does. But we're in the process (or soon in the process) of making quite a few changes to 5% rolls. So whilst I've by no means got any issue with people making edits now, in the long run it may be wiser to hold off a bit until we have more of a cohesive situation.
