Mechanical question about disguise/cover descriptions

My first time using disguise and descriptions, and I've read the wiki a bunch, just hoping that I understand everything right.

So when you want to go into disguise,...
1: Use the -disguise command
2: Use the -load outfit command
3: Load your saved description for that persona
4: Load your cover description

Then how does it work when people examine you?

If they break your cover and disguise, what description do they see? Do the then see your characters real name without the quotations?

From the perspective of the player who broke your disguise, what do they see?


I am noticing that it seems like 90% of the players lately are covered, but for my character, he would make sparring use of cover because its suspicious looking. He would rather take on another persona and try to blend in. I've just never played this type of character before and am not 100% understanding the mechanical aspects.
