Enchanting Damage vs. Essence Damage Bonus

I can't seem to find an old post clarifying this, but is there a way to add both to a weapon? If yes, what is the order this needs to happen in?

For example, if I wanted to add +1d4 Acid (enchant) and +4 Fire damage (essence), can it be done?

essence first then enchant in basin
essence after will wipe anything of the same type
