Stolen Treasure

I came across some items called stolen treasure. Are these to be put in garbage bins right away (bug) or can we RP with them?

The purpose of that item is a placeholder when you pickpocket an NPC successfully. It usually appears in your inventory and then immediately disappears. If it appears under different circumstances, I think it's a bug. Not sure if it could lead to any further bugginess, but I'd say you're taking your chances.

these items also show up when an animal is killed after being befriended by animal empathy on a character with 75%+ Ranger levels. As a result of promoting the befriended animal to "Henchman" status, the "Stolen Treasure" items appear in the dead-corpse of the critter. Some folk are obviously picking these things up, thinking they may have some value, then discarding them when they realize it has no monetary value.
