So, I am turning to you guys having done everything I can apart from reverting back to 8.0 by formatting my computer entirely and having to start again from scratch.
Since my computer forced itself to update to 8.1 it won't connect to the Wireless. It will find the modem and have a good signal, but it won't receive any bandwidth. Whilst I know that every other thing in the house connects to the internet fine, I even took my Laptop to my brothers house who has Sky where I have Virgin Media and my laptop connected to his modem.
Is it possible that with the 8.1 update new drivers were installed that make my modem (Which is the Virgin Media Super Hub and only 2 years old) seem outdated and unable to connect?
Also, my Laptop will connect to the modem and the Internet via Ethernet (Which is what I am doing right now)

Re: Windows 8.1 Internet Issue
It's more likely 8.1 is running on an incompatible ethernet driver.
It has happened to me multiple times.
Try find a proper driver, I can't help much more than that.
