Blackguard Summons + Contagion

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:
- implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain

Blackguard Summons + Contagion

Blackguards are in a pretty good place right now, but they still have a glaring issue. In epic levels, the tier 5 summon tends to perish far too quickly, which leaves the blackguard pretty vulnerable, especially when soloing.

I propose that Contagion be given the Inflict Wounds treatment - applying it on the Blackguard's weapon (or ammunition) grants a on-hit property that applies some sort of malus.

Per the second part of the suggestion, Blackguard summons should be able to interact with infected targets.
By attacking an infected target, they could receive something like one of the following:
  • receive a large burst of healing while subsequently removing the malus
  • receive smaller heals on-hit: see weapon vampirism when attacking the infected targets - this method would leave the malus on the target
  • AC and CON boon + a regeneration effect upon the summon killing the infected target
I believe this change would do a decent job in patching the level gap between tier 5 and 6 while bringing a bit of usefulness to one of the Blackguards unused abilities.
