Ok, so in Warband (and old mount and blade I think), whenever you encounter a group of peasants they say 'It's almost harvesting season!'. The voice acting for this line is choice. It's become a meme in the community in regards to the release date for Bannerlord, because, after all, it's almost harvesting season!

It's the sequel to a really really good game.

It's an indie game and has it's obvious flaws but for something that you wouldn't expect much from it's one of the best games out there.

It takes aspects from almost every genre you can think of in a fantasy setting. RPG, RTS, true sandbox, Total War style games, Diplomacy sims, FPS/TPS medieval combat, etc etc and bundles them into an awesome experience.

Then with mods on top of that it's easily become one of the greatest games in terms of scope on the market in the last decade+.

So with this sequel people have a lot of high hopes for it to be the next big thing, it was announced in 2012 so with 7, nearly 8, years since said announcement the wait has been torture!!

Mount and Blade + Warband are usually very cheap on Steam, I would absolutely recommend anyone pick it up and give it a go, there's a decently large learning curve but it's worth it and can provide almost endless entertainment for such a small price.

Think mordhau except way older. Has speed based damage. Huge emphasis on horse combat. Has a campaign with lots of mods, and it becomes a bit rts/trading/raiding/tournament/recaptured game. It was really ahead of its time in terms of game mechanics and still one of the best medeival combat games out there. Even though it is more than that.

And yes its rough on the edges. Its a very indie game.
