I believe that secretly, everyone I've met on the Island is actually possessed by a being from a higher dimension who controls all of their actions. There's no way that could be true though... right...???
Someone please rp this concept.
That's some inception level stuff right there :)

I have a theory that a good measure of the organised surface monstrous factions are ultimately controlled by an obscenely powerful lich who bases out of Kohlingen, so powerful in fact that it can singlehandedly defeat an Amnian armada. The skeleton mage that we fight on the battlements of Kohlingen is just a puppet used to distract adventurers. To lend weight to my theory, all this is sourced from actual in game happenings and the fact that phylacteries are a pretty common occurrence in dungeons around the isle. Its like an undead pyramid scheme.

Arelith is actually a cautionary example by Kelemvor to the rest of Abeir-Toril to illustrate why death is a necessary part of life.

Willy still wanders whenever you are not at the portal in the Shallow Woods but always manages to make it back before someone shows up.

Or the guy at the portal is just an imposter

Not sure if its a crazy theory but Arelith being a giant cosmic sinkhole since there's WAY too many extra-planar access points (like the Astrolabe being functional, a whole buncha hell portals, the portal NETWORK, there are portals in the freakin afterlife) always struck me as something interesting.

Like, IC the theory is Arelith has some bleed with Sigil or some mad-lad wizard started making portals in Kelemvor's Wall because they figured it was an easier way to achieve immortality to just stick a backdoor in the afterlife.

Arelith has its own mortal Risen deity. His name is Harry Lisp. He does not receive much piety. Namer Quill is very embarassed by his lack of attention as an Apprentice.

The Crow's Nest is actually a stable island in the Elemental Chaos.
