Re: Archeage
It has gone off of Steam. You can still download it from their site, however. There is a reason that Trion had it removed, but I can't remember.

Re: Archeage
Trion has their own steam-esque gamelauncher thing, Glyph. Similar to how EA has Origin.

Re: Archeage
My only complaint that is was fairly hard to run on my computer. I had the lowest settings; that being said, I don't have a great computer.

Yes, but will their trees automatically randomly rotate?

Clunky feeling, unpolished, and overcrowded. But it's a new release, so it'll be like that for awhile.
Just a little bit of a disappointment, after RIFT.

I don't know why MMOs get hype anymore. I really don't.

Oh man, I still remember when WoW was first announced, and it blew my mind, and I was sad that I did not have the hardware nor the money to play such a thing.
A bunch of years later, and I have never touched the game.
And yet, the general and original promisse of MMOs still draws me in. I just learned to see through the lies.
Also, number 1 fact why I leave most mmos..is that I have no friends to play them with. Sure, you can join factions and all..but it is never the same as playing a couple of hours with buddies.

Re: Archeage
I'm hating the design aesthetic so far. It looks pretty bland, IMO. I'm not too impressed given the hype.

Preach. I always wanted to get into LOTRO but it looks confusingly expensive with all the expansion packs and f2p quasi models and whatnot, but being able to become a rohirrim aaaaaaahDaedin wrote: Also, number 1 fact why I leave most mmos..is that I have no friends to play them with. and the fact it's not that popular.
I linger in GW2, because some friends play, but eh. It's eh.
I'm holding my breath on the WoW-killer. But there's a clear lack of innovation across the board in a lot of 'mainstream' gaming genres - Destiny is the clear epitome of that.

Re: Archeage
I've been having fun so far, even though you can tell the game is way over-crowded currently given the regularity of the queues needed just to log in. They added another NA server just today, but they really should have gone into head-start with more servers.

I thought it looked pretty cool, but then when doing research on it on youtube, just found endless videos of people griefing other people

Re: Archeage
Playing on Tahyang here. And yeah. Clearly somebody didn't realize how much traffic they were drawing with this game. The que times to just log into a server are an hour, at norm. Sheesh. From the session I did have though, the game certaintly doesn't lack in beauty, and I'm slowly warming up to this class-system. Time will tell though if the real meat of it all, is as good as hoped. Gotta' get into those land-grab politics.

Re: Archeage
If you're just getting into land grab politics, it's likely too late. Your best bet is to either snipe plots that are unattended and will be reclaimed for tardy tax payments (which won't happen for another few weeks), find people who are selling plots of land and meet their price, or join a well-organized guild who has land plots available for new members.
Tahyang, as I recall, is one of the 'unofficial' roleplay servers. So you might actually find some roleplayers there.
I'm rather ambivalent about MMO roleplay, myself, so I don't expect to be doing much of it in ArcheAge.
