I also agree that I think it'll be a nice change now I just gotta remember to use it haha. But excited to have an alternative from killing someone like rough them up and leave!

Subdual mode being available to all weapons and spells is amazing, now I can bully lowbies on my TF without feeling as bad :mrgreen:

I know this was meant as tongue in cheek, but honestly it's actually a bloody good point too lol

This change is great, and i'll definitely be using it on pretty much every character as default from now on!

Glad you all like it. There's plans to do a bit more with subdual? But, I wanted to get this out as a first step.

Please let me know if you run into any issues with it. Ideally with some context. I tested it on my own but thing's are always more complicated in the wild.

I also really love this change. It's something I've really long wanted for Arelith, and that it is now in I'm a very, very happy kitty.

That being said.

One of the main 'concerns' about subdual has always been that as there was a narrative way to 'pvp without death' people would PvP all the time. That people would view subduing someone as nothing of note. The idea that suddenly Cordor would turn into a vast warzone of murder and mayhem, people subduing each other left and right because dude,, it's just knocking someone over.

Please, prove this concern wrong.

If this does become as said - a chaotic warzone where pvp doesn't matter cos 'lol it's only subdual' then I assure you, it will be removed. Remember subdual isn't 'gently knocking someone down' - it's Beating them into Bloody Unconciousness. It's bringing them to the brink of death, and possibly beyond if the other player wishes.

PvP - even subdued PvP is very serious business. It should still require motive, reason and prior rp. Going forward the Dms will be watching how you guys handle this new system. I have faith that you will use it as intended - as a tool to make death more, not less, serious. As a tool to enhance roleplay, and make great stories.

Please - don't prove me wrong.

This mode has definitely made so many fights much more enjoyable. The Gnoll pack challanging eachother where ever they please for dominance... the option for some poor surfacer not to die as Durkerrg is distracted by something else and has to pull away rather then eat someone... or able to RP eating someone still alive lol. To beating your fresh slaves into submission, to robbing somebody or a hasty assassination attempt instead leaving the character gravely wounded... +1 and many kudos

I have noticed a typo with "subdual/subduel" Either on Surface, Cities or Underdark one or the other doesn't work and you have to spell it differently. This was about 3 weeks ago when I noticed so I am not certain if it is still not fixed :)
