Submit Your Bard Music here!

Post by Peachoo » Thu Jun 22, 2023 10:00 pm

Hello Everyone!

We will be soon adding some new songs to the elven minstrel npcs located within the elven quarter of Guldorand. Considering this, we have decided that we will also be adding some bards with the same code to other taverns on the server to provide a little more fun, musical immersion.

For those who have never interacted with the minstrels in the quarter, the npc in question will 'sing' a random song from their database when you talk to them.

While we have a plethora of elven-centered music, I would love to incorporate original songs from other races.

We would like to give the community an opportunity to contribute their own original songs for this project!

We ask for anyone who wants to help contribute to our song repertoire to please post your submissions here!

-Submission Rules-

  1. All songs must not plagiarize current music. Plagiarized music will not be accepted.

  2. Songs created by AI technology will not be accepted.

  3. Please do not submit remixes or parodied music. (We will not be accepting popular songs that have been altered slightly to fit the D and D setting. Looking at you Eye of the Tiger and Bodies by Drowning Pool bardcore! None of that here please!)

  4. We are looking for original work! You are welcome to take inspiration from old folk songs that no longer suffer copyright issues, but I strongly recommend keeping it 100% original. If you are not sure, you are welcome to submit it anyway and it will be reviewed.

  5. If you have a lot of songs to submit, please feel free to put them all in a google document and post the link here. If you don't have an anonymous google account, you can send this directly to my discord. My discord is peachoo.art. I am on the official Arelith discord as Peachoo.

  6. Please don’t be shy about posting UD songs! We are looking for songs from all walks of life!

  7. You can absolutely submit songs that you've written for characters you've already rolled!

  8. We are not specifically saying mp3 music. We are talking about written, lyrics that you would rp in game!

  9. Technically there is no character limit that I know of, however, try to keep them short. Keep in mind that the npc will post the entire song when clicked. We don't want it to be crazy long.

  10. Everyone who contributes will be credited in the announcement when it goes through. These are not ic submissions, but ooc submissions! If you have any questions, please reach out to me either here or via discord.

To clarify - this is specifically requesting song lyrics which NPCs will speak aloud within the module, and not actual MP3 files to be added to the game?

Yes! This is requesting lyrics. I'm sorry if the language was confusing.

Small ud one, meant more for kobolds and slightly unique to a ic 'thing' though thats more for peeps to figure out on their own.

"Come kith and kin~
Listen well, to this, the greatest of tragedies~
Where once was trap and lock,
Saftey and dominion,
Now lies ash and scrap~
Where once was devotion, to the blessed red,
Now lies cries unheard,
Prayers left unanswered~
The enemy came,
With whip,
With steel~
Broken is the dominion,
Broken is the prayer,
Forsaken is the warren~
Cold and abandoned,
Leave well enough kith,
Leave well enough kin~
Nothing remains on those shores,
Nothing but death and dead memories"

A list of songs from characters, performed ICly, that might've been propagated (please do not use these songs if my characters cannot claim themselves as an origin of said songs):

A Pint of Ale, A Pint of Blood, a tale by Harwae'vyll Ossndar, brought from the lands of Dambrath

A pint of ale, a pint of blood, it always ends the same;
We do not care who trolls the waves, 'long as they play our game!

There once was a man of Swagdar, who wanted something to fish
So he chanced upon a dolphin, and thought it'd grant his wish
He stabbed it's side, he reeled it in, he gave it's gut a twist
But once he laid hands on it, I beheaded him with a 'thwish'!

A pint of ale, a pint of blood, it always ends the same;
We do not care who rules the world, as long as we remain!

There once was a hin who was sure of feet, barefoot as the rest
He came came to visit Ammathtar, as his clan's honored guest
They didn't like our rule of pain, so they revolted, as you've guessed
So we flayed their entrails on the hills and used them as targets to test

A pint of ale, a pint of blood, it always ends the same;
We do not care who wins the war, as long as we bring pain!

There once was a long dynasty, of humans, Yaerthal named
Long had they ruled Dambrath, yes, too long was their reign!
They turned to ask the Crinti, and help they said they'd deign
But they had lied, and Yaerthal died - they ruled after they feigned!

A pint of ale, a pint of blood, it always ends the same;
Scorn these deeds and ill tidings, and fill me yet with shame
I do not care, I do not boast, I tell you all that's true
So know your betters and your place, 'lest the next tale is of you!

To Dance with Dolphins, also by Harwae'vyll Ossndar, brought from the lands of Dambrath - telling how Melanith Shintar swam with dolphins and proclaimed them a protected species. It should be noted that this is simply one of the many legends surrounding the event, and is not necessarily a factual retelling.

She had chanced upon a merchantship, of Lurien flag and make.
She did open her broadside, and ballista's aim did take.
She dashed them all, she flogged them down, she thrived for terror's sake...
but after she boarded her craft, she stepped with some mistake!

A plunge, a fall, a sickened twist, a splash and gurgles forth-
there wasn't hope for saving, as they sailed too far from port.

But dolphins came upon them, yes - dolphins, she'd hunted for sport!

And then they swam up to her, and to Melanith's sides did court.

Thus it happened, thus she's saved, and thus she did decree.

No more hunting dolphins, in Dambrath there would be.

For they are sacred, and pristine, and beautiful to be seen.

Thus they take shelter, and they dance, upon our sparkling sea.

Leave No Stone Unturned, by Marlana Cheerbringer, a tale from the Kingdom of Delmyr

There's a saying where I'm from, it's quite weird here to some
But it's 'Never step foot on a stone left unturned'
So when next you go out, be careful to shout
And make sure you leave no stone unturned

Our tale it does start, where things often do
It's here now with me - and here now with you!
A hin of most humble of learnings has learned
To never step foot on a stone left unturned

It's quite the tale, and one that I'd tell
About all the heroes and villains that fell
But it's always still playing - and always still played
And will keep on playing 'till time is yet stayed

So leave no stone unturned, leave no rock amiss
Fear no foggy or misty a mire of mist
Go out and search it, go out and find!
You'll find this song playing, anywhere, any time~

For it's you - and it's me - who have stones underfeet
And leaving unturned all the time.

Hello, i am withdrawing the one i did send in. I did it on the basis that they will be ic submissions like written in discord before this was here, and characters will be credited for it long term. Sorry, it would have been nice if those songs were spread by bards after hearing them and such. I will instead use ingame means like boards and books.

Its about the last point.
"Everyone who contributes will be credited in the announcement when it goes through. These are not ic submissions, but ooc submissions! If you have any questions, please reach out to me either here or via discord."
Just can not agree on doing it on that basis as those were songs closely tied to my character.

I can offer some of the OG songs I've created with my bard:

Nae Running in the Halls

In the heart of the mountain
There's a place without a fountain
Golden stones, and the like
If you dare to here hike.

In this place, a rule of thumb
It's not written, little runt,
But I dare you for the Thane
That you will keep the proper pace

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall.
Nae Running in the Halls,
Or the Kuldarn, I will call.

I can't stop, I'm too fast,
These large halls I will pass,
Running like the wind blast,
Without haste to even cast.

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall.
Nae Running in the Halls,
Or the Regent, I will call.

Don't you ever try, you imp,
Or I will make you trip,
With my wooden large stick,
Between your legs, they will fit.

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall.
Nae Running in the Halls,
Or the Regent, I will call.

Now hear my words, little pal,
I won't tell to break any law,
But you know, it's too much fun!
IN THE HALLS, YOU SHALL RUN!

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall!
Nae Running in the Halls!
Or the Warden, I will call.

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall.
Nae Running in the Halls,
Or the Regent, I will call.

Nae Running in the Halls!
Nae Running in the Halls!
You shall walk, never run,
Not a single trot, or just a jog!

Nae Running in the HALLS!

The Tale of a Mourning Night

There was upon a time,
A large, a big manor,
And the tale that might rhyme
Was long time forgotten.
The building we are talking,
It was kindly ruled,
By two lovers holding
A massive fortune.

The name of the male,
It was mister Edward,
He was handsome but pale
For reading at the backyard.
Her name was Charlotte,
And she was the lover,
He secretly called her Chi
Even when they were sober.

They were really happy
Living together,
With thousand one servants,
And their own storyteller.
And suddenly they had,
A brilliant idea,
Why not turning this place,
Into an orphanage?

So they send up letters,
They seeked for children,
They wanted to share love,
To those who most need it.
The manor was glowing,
With innocent laughs,
Faces beaming with happiness,
And life was the light.

But from the depths of the planes,
A demon was greedy,
He hated the orphanage,
And the people living in.
An emissary was sent,
To the orphanage place,
Disguised as a friend,
But he was far from being.

An interview,
He was requesting,
To meet mister Edward,
In private meeting.
They talked for hours,
With tales and stories,
The emissary's smile
Was growing wider.

A sleight of hand,
A swift movement,
The drink of our noble
Was severely poisoned.
He reached to his lips,
He drunk the foul water,
The cough was heavy
And he fell fainted.

As days has passed
The illness was growing,
Several healers
Claimed: "I can't do nothing".
Desperation was growing,
In the mistress' mind,
So the demon smiled,
It was his chance.

In dreams he arrived,
He spoke in her head,
Dreams of healing,
In her reverie.
The mistress' was guided,
From her foolish dreams,
To summon the fiend,
That ruined this story.

The demon appeared,
The creature was summoned,
Her eyes wide in fear
She asked desperately:
"I will be your servant,
I will do whatever,
Just save my husband,
That's all for me matters"

The demon smiled,
And spoke horrid words:
"I'll spare his life,
In exchange of yours"
The mistress instantly nodded,

She did not understand,
The trick of the words,
The fiend was about.

The fiend released his power,
The souls of the servants,
Also the children,
Were took forever.
The mistress realized,
What was the trick,
She screamed in agony,
As life was leaving hers.

Our noble awaked,
From his illness dreams',
His body restored,
But by foolish means.
He saw his hands,
Pale as ever,
But a sudden thirst,
Was coming together.

A scream of agony,
The vampire noble produced,
He did not expected this run,
That the demon lured.
He cursed the demon,
In combat was faced,
They fought on the roof
While fate was laced.

With the night ending,
He sent a desperate prayer,
To the Morninglord,
A last breath of power.
So Lathander heard,
The final call,
And his power released,
In its glory to all.

"You might have tricked,
All of this mortals,
But I condemn you to never,
Leave this orphanage"
That was the words,
Lathander spoke,
And the demon was bound,
To the building forever.

The mistress did escaped,
In the last moment,
Back to the crypts,
To mourn for eternity.
The damage she has done,
It was hard to pronounce,
The unspeakable happened,
And it was all gone.

The children forever,
No more innocence,
They turned into monsters,
Of bloodthirsty fever.
I hope you learned,
From this tragic tale,
Of what a demon,
For greed or what else.

He could produce,
If we fail for temptation,
Do not heard foolish words,
Or we'll face conviction.
This has been the tale,
The most tragic one,
Of a mourning night
Of two kind belovers.

The Battle of the Raiders

The night was dark,
In Guldorand's lands,
Quiet and silent,
No wondering of the incoming mark.

And thus fire did roar,
Smelt like roasted boar,
Death was found in the road,
Vengeance brewing from Hoar.

Soldiers killed,
Raiders storming,
The unknown did happened,
No clue to be found.

"The raiders are there!"
A voice shouted,
The adventurers followed,
In confused disorder.

Through Guldorand's lands,
It was followed, the raider band,
Into the deepest of ravines,
The shape of a bovine

To the cave of the unknown,
Against hundreds of hags,
Against the magical dogs,
And marauders, a lot

Through galleries built of men,
Or nature when they care,
Into caves of frost cold,
The raiders were found

Five plus five,
Perhaps more of the raiders,
A tight company surrounded,
The surprised heroes of the story

Sword and mace,
Magical flames,
The clash was brutal,
But the worthy were winning

The chicken, however,
Or captain, or whatever,
"I'm running for my life"
He said courageously

However, he never expected,
The trap of pocket time,
This singer did acted,
Which ruined the escaping

And where the cold was tougher,
Trapped between fate and doors,
The captain did fell,
In a column of fire.

Rejoice! Adventurers,
Mages, and Fighters,
Soldiers, and Knights,
Thus this victory is remembered,
In the Hold of the Jotun!

Aunrae has a tendency for improvising, however some of her songs eventually were sung a few times. Amusingly none of the songs that were sung again by her or others were Underdark themed.

Wanderlust
A really simple song I made on a whim on the spot. I realized this had stuck when another character sang it back to Aunrae after a long time when they met again.

These are the fleeting sounds.
Of the heart that knows no bounds.
These words carried by the winds,
Heard only by the free minds,
Who dream of far away lands,
With white and pristine sands.
Careless or naive to the exotic marr,
Too distracted by the new aromas of the bazaar.
But eventually on the new toys settles the dust.
So awakens again the wanderlust.
And so new routes are planned,
And at the horizon rouses a new land.

Requiem for a Leviathan
This was sung in Sencliff to celebrate the sinking of the Leviathan a year and half ago, iirc. Only very few people knew it was Aunrae who was commissioned for it. After the performance it was pinned on several boards in Sencliff, with the pen name of Twilight Siren. Some of the stranger lines were intentional references to some of the pirates who played prominent roles in the deed.

On doleful waves was a Leviathan washed,
Head and members low in earnest mourn,
Yet in its trail flotsam and jetsam sloshed.
Its grief not enough was to sate the scorn,
That its now wan admiral woefully spread
Of his two natures turning his back to one.
Sanguinarily he went his brethren to shred,
His countless misdeeds forget could none.
The wronged came thus with a parting gift,
Patiently planned and prepared in the Cliff.
Of Cutlass, coin and wit they were not thrift,
Even now that the perpetrator just lied stiff.
Forty shots they fired to mark the send-off,
Thirty lives they took to quench their thirst,
Of revenge long desired but till now put off.
The Liberator's Luck has opened the fire first,
The volley joined then the Warship's Down.
Heck Tower the Red painted in blood the sea,
To the Queen they delivered many to drown.
Relentless and fatal was their vengeful spree,
From the Leviathan just two weak sighs came,
Drowned in the laments that turned into cries.
Its dread carcass covered in smoke and flame,
Was of the extreme reprisal the vaunted prize.

The Pirate's Shanty
Just a little shanty made spontaneously and then sang several other times to her pirate allies.

How can a day be more jolly,
Than when on my shoulder sits Polly.
The seas I sail looking for treasure,
For me this is the real pleasure.
My distant village I left for this life,
The price was to live by the knife.
A friend I lost to the jaws of a shark,
On another I left on his neck my mark.
In the rough moments I have only the booze,
But when I am unlucky I have just the bruise.
This is the life of a pirate,
This is the life I love and hate.

Here are however a few hymns to Lolth made by a drow bard I played on an old MUD:

The Webspinner
You spin relentlessly your web of trickery,
Patiently you wait for your foes' mistakes.
Unrivaled cunning will lead you to victory,
Whoever defies your will always breaks,
And for them there shall be only misery.
Your shrewd strategem is all that it takes,
Lost we would be left without your guide,
We shall spread your power far and wide.

Hail to the Dark Mother
Oh, Spider Queen, frightening mother,
In front of you we stand all as nothing.
By pitting us all one against each other,
You make us stronger to face anything.
In darkness our forces we shall gather,
Our might will announce your coming.
For who opposes you will be crushed,
Of your foes we shall leave only dust.

The Power of Fear
A weapon strong as steel is fear,
Love and respect are weak tools.
Of the latters are fond only fools,
To the Queen the former is dear.

Fear cripples the enemies' heart,
It brings them to flee and scream,
Hurrying away in a chaotic stream,
That we can mercilessly tear apart.

Vengeance against Faerie
(upon request of priestess Jhael'riel Armgo)

For long eons we awaited the time for revenge,
Loathsome cousins who betrayed us so long ago,
Under cover of darkness we will rise from below,
Your wicked faerie blood our thirst shall quench.

Once again we will claim the land cursed by light,
That rightfully belonged to us only for our leisure.
We will wipe you all out for our Queen's pleasure,
All the others will kneel and worship Her in fright.

Not sure if I should provide it here, but here is also a Zinzerena folktale, which would go well with an Underdark bard. I suppose it could as well be sung.

Once upon a time there was a guild of wizards in a drow city far to the south in the Night Below.

These wizards were, like all wizards, ambitious and thirsty for power, but on their path was a powerful drow who had turned himself into a lich.

A demilich, to be precise, a very powerful version of a lich. He lived in fact in a dreadful palace, not far from their guild.

So the wizards decided the only way they had to get rid of that undead was to call an assassin of incredible skill, one who was not scared to kill what was already dead.

And thus they called none else than Zinzerena.

Long months passed, after they had tried to send messengers to reach her, none of which returned successful.

One day, however, a small girl, dressed in dirty wool stepped on the entrance of their guild and told the guards she had been called for a job.

They laughed in front of her.

And moments later they simply gurgled in their blood on the floor, unable even to utter a word.

The guildmaster and his apprentices rushed to the entrance to face the small girl but were wise enough to stay their hands and their spells.

The girl then, with the shrill voice that only a child could have, told them that she was Zinzerena, and that she was interested in their offer.

She told them her condition was that she could have a third of the lich's treasure.

Paralyzed by the fear the wizards were able to just nod, deeply. And thus, without uttering a further word Zinzerena turned her back, and departed, under the guise of this innocuous little girl with a dirty smock.

She then went to the lich's palace, in the wilderness outside the city, a castle of twisting spires and cold draughts.

All around it was death and dust, covering icy trophies and crystals.

As she stepped inside she admired the standing carrions of the lich's many enemies that he had defeated in his long centuries of practising the art, and the many treasures he had accumulated.

In particular a colossal chandelier which was looming over the whole hallway, entirely composed of skulls, diamonds and crystals infused with faerzress.

A marvel of both richness and magical energy.

She went into the many halls, until eventually she found the hovering skull of the demilich, intent, in reading an old gloomily bright grimoire.

Zinzerena, still in the shape of the little girl, asked the powerful undead, with the naivest tone a child could produce, whether he could take her as apprentice.

And the creature, turning enraged, bursted in laughter before he could utter at her a spell of instant death.

The demilich sounded amused and so he challenged what to him resembled a little girl telling her: little girl, I would be more inclined to turn you to dust right now, but since you were so daring I shall give you a chance, succeed and I will teach you some art" pauses 'fail and you will be the subject of my next experiment.

This demilich was particularly powerful and dreadful for he had infused with stolen souls the parts of his old body, and then linked them to different philacteria, hidden in the palace.

The demilich in fact challenged Zinzerena, again still in the disguise of a little girl, to find his various body parts hidden in the palace.

But since indeed he was facing no small girl, but a skilled practitioner of the art and an assassin, he witnessed with surprise as one by one she uncovered in the various halls the different parts of his body.

So first was an arm found, then the other, then the chest and eventually the legs.

Done so the demilich uttered a magical formula and the parts came under his head, and assembled in what was indeed a majestic body, all inscribed with runes of great power, and dweomers.

And then he laughed, diabolically.

Grinning as only a skull can, and peering at her with his ruby red eyes, he said malevolently: and you thought you could fool me with a simple illusion, Zinzerena?'

I long heard the losers of the guild in the city had called for you, and part of me secretly hoped you would accept their task, so I could add your corpse to my many trophies of the enemies I have slain.'

And he cackled: fool and arrogant you have been to challenge death. This shall be your undoing, mortal!

Zinzerena, uncovered, dropped her illusionary disguise and raised her blade, the legendary sword she had stolen from the slaad. She was ready to face death, and she didn't falter a moment.

But she was facing a powerful demilich, and she could do nothing as he sent his arm to clutch hers, and thus rendered her unable to lift her blade, which clanged noisily on the floor.

Echoing in the many halls of the palace.

Zinzerena tightened her lips and reached for her bag, to throw at the creature some alchemical concoction against the undead.

But the demilich was faster and sent also his second arm to lock hers.

At that point Zinzerena made a shrill laughter.

The first arm of the lich blew up, leaving a pile of dust on the ground.

Incredulous the demilich looked at what remained of his arm, and babbled something in surprise.

And also the second arm soon fell to dust.

The lich recovered now some lucidity and started to utter an incantantion to dispel magic. A very powerful one.

He barely managed to complete it, as both of his legs crumbled as well into mere dust.

And as he saw his chest following the same fate, he slowly hovered back in mid-air, as he witnessed in front of him the girl he had seen the first time, reading the grimoire.

Who smiled to him. Albeit wickedly.

The lich was able to utter enraged at her as he heard a voice over him, over the giant chandelier: you have never seen me, undead. You have only seen a girl I found in the slums.

And thus she crushed the chandelier, which hid the lich's philacteria, destroying him once and for all.

Zinzerena then split the treasure of the lich in three parts, one for herself, one for the wizards and one for the little girl.

She told the girl to tell the wizards they had agreed to give her one third, but did not agree about their own part.

And thus she waved at the girl telling her to become an assassin as well, and went on her way.

Another bard, that made a song about Baator and another about a wizard losing their spellbook.

The Gates of Hell

On the blood-soaked rocks emerging from river Styx,
The damned are spread as a tangle of writhing limbs.
The memory of whoever in these turbid waters swims,
Erased will be forever with neither remedy nor fix.

From this fate they are spared by the devils' kicks,
That hurl the damned for their masters on boats grim.
Fierce care is put that nobody goes beyond the brim,
For empty shells are less useful for power politics.

The sad fate of who comes to the Shelves of Despond,
Due to selfishness and greed in life is so deserved,
And the time for hope or redemption is now long past.

Ruthless torturers will scourge bit by bit any bond,
To their mortal self, and nothing will be remembered,
By these empty husks who in the Maggot Pit are cast.

Dust

Against the dim horizon a crooked figure stands,
With dull stare and in his hair tattered hands.
Despair flickers within eyes the color of wood,
For the wise advice now will make him no good.
Past is the time to renounce the insane goals,
To identify in the brazen plans the many holes.
Fatuous delusions blinded his complacent mind,
That had trust in the petty nature of mankind.
Had he had for discipline way more inclination,
Perhaps his soul could have avoided damnation.
Now formulae and chants blow away in the wind,
Tragic fate set them free from the book's bind.
Lost is the feverish result of his life's work,
Forever handed over to the embrace of the murk.
Such is the hefty price the unwise has to pay,
As he realizes that power isn't a toy for play.
While his creamy snow skin is lashed by a gust,
On the ground his works lie in immaculate dust.

I also played a water genasi bard for a brief time, still on the MUD. This was her only original song.

The nosy shrimp

In the depths of the sea once ago lived a nosy shrimp,
Willfully he wandered in the currents strong and weak,
Despite everybody told him he was just a little wimp.
He replied to each that mind is better than physique.

So he travelled toward far shores with bottom ahead,
He had been to many places and escaped many dangers.
No clue he had had where the current him would lead.
No idea he had had of who would be the new strangers.

Years later, a wimp he was no more, he was rather fat,
One day the crude octopus told him he was truly thick,
That all were smarter than him, even the dull sprat.
Not looking at where one goes, for sure isn't quick.

The shrimp wriggled his legs and to the mollusk told,
That better is to remember what one has left behind,
Than to wonder about what for now one can only behold.
The past will come back, to the future we are blind.

I can offer some of the OG songs I've created with my bard:

Nae Running in the Halls

In the heart of the mountain
There's a place without a fountain
Golden stones, and the like
If you dare to here hike.

In this place, a rule of thumb
It's not written, little runt,
But I dare you for the Thane
That you will keep the proper pace

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall.
Nae Running in the Halls,
Or the Kuldarn, I will call.

I can't stop, I'm too fast,
These large halls I will pass,
Running like the wind blast,
Without haste to even cast.

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall.
Nae Running in the Halls,
Or the Regent, I will call.

Don't you ever try, you imp,
Or I will make you trip,
With my wooden large stick,
Between your legs, they will fit.

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall.
Nae Running in the Halls,
Or the Regent, I will call.

Now hear my words, little pal,
I won't tell to break any law,
But you know, it's too much fun!
IN THE HALLS, YOU SHALL RUN!

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall!
Nae Running in the Halls!
Or the Warden, I will call.

Nae Running in the Halls,
Even if you are three foot tall.
Nae Running in the Halls,
Or the Regent, I will call.

Nae Running in the Halls!
Nae Running in the Halls!
You shall walk, never run,
Not a single trot, or just a jog!

Nae Running in the HALLS!

The Tale of a Mourning Night

There was upon a time,
A large, a big manor,
And the tale that might rhyme
Was long time forgotten.
The building we are talking,
It was kindly ruled,
By two lovers holding
A massive fortune.

The name of the male,
It was mister Edward,
He was handsome but pale
For reading at the backyard.
Her name was Charlotte,
And she was the lover,
He secretly called her Chi
Even when they were sober.

They were really happy
Living together,
With thousand one servants,
And their own storyteller.
And suddenly they had,
A brilliant idea,
Why not turning this place,
Into an orphanage?

So they send up letters,
They seeked for children,
They wanted to share love,
To those who most need it.
The manor was glowing,
With innocent laughs,
Faces beaming with happiness,
And life was the light.

But from the depths of the planes,
A demon was greedy,
He hated the orphanage,
And the people living in.
An emissary was sent,
To the orphanage place,
Disguised as a friend,
But he was far from being.

An interview,
He was requesting,
To meet mister Edward,
In private meeting.
They talked for hours,
With tales and stories,
The emissary's smile
Was growing wider.

A sleight of hand,
A swift movement,
The drink of our noble
Was severely poisoned.
He reached to his lips,
He drunk the foul water,
The cough was heavy
And he fell fainted.

As days has passed
The illness was growing,
Several healers
Claimed: "I can't do nothing".
Desperation was growing,
In the mistress' mind,
So the demon smiled,
It was his chance.

In dreams he arrived,
He spoke in her head,
Dreams of healing,
In her reverie.
The mistress' was guided,
From her foolish dreams,
To summon the fiend,
That ruined this story.

The demon appeared,
The creature was summoned,
Her eyes wide in fear
She asked desperately:
"I will be your servant,
I will do whatever,
Just save my husband,
That's all for me matters"

The demon smiled,
And spoke horrid words:
"I'll spare his life,
In exchange of yours"
The mistress instantly nodded,

She did not understand,
The trick of the words,
The fiend was about.

The fiend released his power,
The souls of the servants,
Also the children,
Were took forever.
The mistress realized,
What was the trick,
She screamed in agony,
As life was leaving hers.

Our noble awaked,
From his illness dreams',
His body restored,
But by foolish means.
He saw his hands,
Pale as ever,
But a sudden thirst,
Was coming together.

A scream of agony,
The vampire noble produced,
He did not expected this run,
That the demon lured.
He cursed the demon,
In combat was faced,
They fought on the roof
While fate was laced.

With the night ending,
He sent a desperate prayer,
To the Morninglord,
A last breath of power.
So Lathander heard,
The final call,
And his power released,
In its glory to all.

"You might have tricked,
All of this mortals,
But I condemn you to never,
Leave this orphanage"
That was the words,
Lathander spoke,
And the demon was bound,
To the building forever.

The mistress did escaped,
In the last moment,
Back to the crypts,
To mourn for eternity.
The damage she has done,
It was hard to pronounce,
The unspeakable happened,
And it was all gone.

The children forever,
No more innocence,
They turned into monsters,
Of bloodthirsty fever.
I hope you learned,
From this tragic tale,
Of what a demon,
For greed or what else.

He could produce,
If we fail for temptation,
Do not heard foolish words,
Or we'll face conviction.
This has been the tale,
The most tragic one,
Of a mourning night
Of two kind belovers.

The Battle of the Raiders

The night was dark,
In Guldorand's lands,
Quiet and silent,
No wondering of the incoming mark.

And thus fire did roar,
Smelt like roasted boar,
Death was found in the road,
Vengeance brewing from Hoar.

Soldiers killed,
Raiders storming,
The unknown did happened,
No clue to be found.

"The raiders are there!"
A voice shouted,
The adventurers followed,
In confused disorder.

Through Guldorand's lands,
It was followed, the raider band,
Into the deepest of ravines,
The shape of a bovine

To the cave of the unknown,
Against hundreds of hags,
Against the magical dogs,
And marauders, a lot

Through galleries built of men,
Or nature when they care,
Into caves of frost cold,
The raiders were found

Five plus five,
Perhaps more of the raiders,
A tight company surrounded,
The surprised heroes of the story

Sword and mace,
Magical flames,
The clash was brutal,
But the worthy were winning

The chicken, however,
Or captain, or whatever,
"I'm running for my life"
He said courageously

However, he never expected,
The trap of pocket time,
This singer did acted,
Which ruined the escaping

And where the cold was tougher,
Trapped between fate and doors,
The captain did fell,
In a column of fire.

Rejoice! Adventurers,
Mages, and Fighters,
Soldiers, and Knights,
Thus this victory is remembered,
In the Hold of the Jotun!

I LOVE these omg. Nae running is great.

Age of stagnation

Ever since the first drow
Came to wonder beneath
They have had the same way
In which they are to live

Venerate Spiderqueen
Dominate and enslave
But with centuries past
Dug perpetual grave

Behind laughing of mad
The betrayer of gods
They have lost very chance
To look into the skies.

They developed, but soon
All advancement has stopped.
To deal with their own kin
Who desires the most.

Ever since more drow die
From their own kindred hands
And then time and again
They fail to comprehend.

No dominion would come
To the people apart
But they're already chained
Cannot take the fresh start.

And the children of Queen's
Try to alter their ways
Their advancements - naive
And are sure to be failed.

Strife enruptures their souls
And confines their dark minds
As they can't even think
Of what else lies beyound

They believe that they're best
When in fact they are not.
Made their name on the blade
And then left it to rot

For repeating all over
Same steps and mistakes
Maddened people are laughed at
From insides of the web.

Under spiderqueens rule,
Not the chaos and change
But stagnatious existence
The drow do attend.

And if one home prevails,
Other shall go it through
Struggle for their survival
It's all that they do...

Would they open their eyes?
Not when faith drives them on
To the vengeance, to silence
To spiderqueen's throne

They are doomed. And yet feared
That keeps their standing high
And brings ever more of the drow
To deny. There is way outside

Little jar that they're in.
But with sole dedication
And mischievous grin
They continue to fight

Never heard, neither seen
Is the voice of defiance
They suffer throughout
The entire of life/

How it was, how it ends
That does not even matter
Either way the abyss
Gonna open it's mouth

And consume those who strived
To get higher with power,
Disregarding the cost, and not caring at all
When demise does eventually happen

All the traces erased
By the next forceful hand
And each time...
It continues to happen.

Wheel of death and betrayal
Of vengeance and strife.
Play along, drow, it's gamble!
Your fame or your life

In perpetual cruelty,
Broken their minds.
And the age of stagnation
Continues to charge.

With more souls every day
Going down into drain
As they don't want to change.
All the effort is vain...

Hope is lost, dreams aflame
And the queen shall still reign
For eternity weaving
The carpet of pain.

The Dungeoneers

Grab ye loot, watch out for traps
We're adventurers at heart!
But the battle's not our quirk!
We prefer the finer work.

When doors open, not a sound
We rejoice beneath the ground
Traps repurposed, fortune found
With the profits we are bound!

Shouting on the market street
"Who would buy that we've recieved?"
Spark the flame, ignite price high
And then run to bank and hide

As the coin and goods amound
Good ol' peddler we shall find
Charming, haggling, and then
Walk with pockets full again!

Work of ours on other hand
Ain't as easy, but depends
When outnumbered, hit the legs!
We're not cowards, but full hands

Makes the fighting tough enough
And you're risking cold hard cash.
We're not cowards, if you'd think
Tethering on very brink

We still get out with some loot
And experience to boot
Spending simplifies your life!
In more delves you're sure to find

Finer weapons, better gear
Mithril dust, adamantine
Precious gems and lots of fun!
Dungeon crawl - for everyone!

Back in 2018 I briefly played a goblin named Inqzz, and there was a goblin poetry contest... So my character submitted a very short one she could muster to write:

Goblin Plight

I look up i see only belly,
Dunno the face, but I know
Chins and cheeks
Also I see through nostrils
Bad breath falls on me
Bad gas attack me from
Their scary behinds
This is the struggle of a goblin
Prefer company of my kin,
Not cuz I like them...

But cuz I am tired of:
bad view, bad smell, and
Fainting from gases.

Tallsies donno how I suffer.

I've not played Arelith in a while but some time back I was Stink Spellworped, a goblin bard who wrote a bunch of tunes. A selection of crude lyrics for you:

- - - GOBLIN STOMP - - -
Goblin stomp, goblin stomp, everyone gotta do goblin stomp!
Stamp foot down like it in swamp, you just got done goblin stomp!

Goblin hop, goblin hop, if you slow you can’t keep up!
Sink to knees and then spring up, you just got done goblin hop!

Goblin swing, goblin swing, hand to mouth and kiss that ring!
Now punch someone with that thing, you just got done goblin swing!

Goblin splat, goblin splat, time end all of this and that!
Leap in air and fall down flat, you just got done goblin splat!

- - - BIG BAD BUTCHER - - -
This the song of the ship that all people on surface is fearing! This the song of…

BIG BAD BUTCHER!
BIG BAD BUTCHER!

You is the best! Tougher bigger stronger better badder than rest!
You has got the biggest deck a ship ever seen
But when getting dirty, captain making Stink clean!

You is the dark! Slicker quicker frighter biter mystery ark!
Mighty magic making so that prey is all blind
Cordor, pirates, Amnians, we spear their behinds!

BIG BAD BUTCHER!
BIG BAD BUTCHER!

You is the smart! Gnomish engine fancy techy big work of art!
This ship not need sails to make it zoom on the sea
Chase you down so scary fast you panic and pee!

Crew always tough!
Made of salt and blood and pain and powerful stuff!
Jhaamdath call for glory and it always come ‘round!
Enemies of Andunor we bury in ground!

BIG BAD BUTCHER!
BIG BAD BUTCHER!

- - - KING OF BONES - - -
If you got the itching for an afterlife
If you want to make sure you make death you wife
If you is a thinker, is a mastermind
If you not afraid to leave you rump behind
Then listen good! Listen to what Stink sing!
Power got a price even for kings!
But maybe if you got the spelly knowhow
Maybe you can polymorph you life right heck now
Maybe if you sack up and grow stones
Then maybe you become a king of...

…BONES! Lidless eyes that glower!
Clocked into infinite power!
Turn death to a friend - now you got no end!
You heart become dark - so get blown apart!
It not matter if you splatter or shattered to tatters,
flatter to floor 'fore you clatter, just scatter,
You soul get whooshed!
Swooshed!
Away on breeze of evil now it fly!
Slink into new body; it disguise!
Now you is more fearsome than Davy Jones!
You a big bad evil king of bones!

- - - FIXIT FANTASIA - - -
Stink know a gob, get herself hacked up, come bleeding back to the cave
But she kill foe, come back with smile, bloody and battered but brave
That how Stink know, when gob docs come help her, she in full state of ecstasia
That when Stink learn, just when he should play, special song - Fixit Fantasia!

It when you hurt, it when you scattered, it when you rise from the fight
It when you win, it when you crunch foe, that you earn music delight
Song not for losers, song not for quitters, it pretty like face of geisha
It soothe the ears, it dry your tears, chin up - it Fixit Fantasia!

- - - TALONA'S DIRGE - - -
Born of ooze, poison’s bruise, sickness stews, Plague Mother!
Toxic bones, kills alone, venom crone, Plague Mother!

Talona could snuff you away, in one blink of eye
But Talona, that not her play! It take you long time to die...

Groan in bed, can’t eat bread, gut is dead, Plague Mother!
Got no strength, reek with stench, sweat yous drenched, Plague Mother!

Talona could snuff you away, in one blink of an eye
But Talona, that not her play! It take you long time to die...

- - - ADVENTURE TONIGHT - - -
All people full of big thrill when they know
Adventure about to begin!
Leave boring stupids in safety at home
And find new adventure with kin!

Drow is the scary silencers!
Matrons point fingers and smite!
Great Houses rule city for sure!
And drow find adventure tonight!

Duergar tough stuff, that for sure!
Gold piles big - what a sight!
They always brewing their liquor!
Grey dwarves adventure tonight!

Elves is the stupidest cowards!
Elves not hit fair in a fight!
All elves is smell like manure!
Elves not adventure tonight!

Gnolls is the sniffiest hunters!
Track down and kill with a bite!
Cover you nose when they wet fur!
Still, gnolls adventure tonight!

Gobs have big love for adventure!
Gobs like the coin and the fight!
Gobs swarm and crash on the monsters!
Gobs find adventure tonight!

Half-orcs is people of two worlds!
But good to have at campsite!
Stink knew half-orc who drank straight pure...
Absinthe then ‘ventured that night!

Humans is real hard to picture!
Some give Stink coin and some Stink bite!
Put them in front so they die first!
When humans adventure tonight!

Kobolds is clever and prefer
Crafting and building bits right!
Tribe work together to conquer!
Kobolds adventure tonight!

Orog got muscles and honour!
All foes of them they will strike!
Made to be chiefs, this Stink concur
Orog adventure tonight!

Tieflings is horniest warriors!
Evils and demons they like!
Get out of way, that Stink assure
When tiefs adventure tonight!

Trogs is the stinkiest lizards!
But they got all kinds of might!
Getting one mad get you murdered!
Trogs find adventure tonight!

All people full of big thrill when they know
Adventure about to begin!
Leave boring stupids in safety at home
And find new adventure with kin!

Sung by Mhais the bard for Red Tower events.

What Evil is Best for Me?

Let's discuss the eternal strife,
That endless War of Wars,
Where fiends fight in perpetuity,
The casualties, countless scores.
But why should you or I care?
The Lower planes are far away...
Yet be wary of demon and devil both,
For it's on the Prime, they come to play.

Crafty as any rogue,
Yet a bureaucrat within,
The devils will do anything,
To assure their side will win,
But never sign their contracts,
For you certainly have no clue...
What dangers lurk in the fine print,
Awaiting to consume you.

But that is merely a single side,
To this perpetually flipping coin,
So let's address the demons now,
If your soul is forced to join!
Chaos is their banner,
Discord their brazen cry,
For anything of Order,
They will eternally defy.

Wild and unpredictable,
The demons may be,
But is rigid Order any better...
What evil is best for me?

The Blood War can be upon us,
At any given time.
There is no escaping its touch,
Even on the Prime.
So heed my advice,
Before you consider joining,
No need to roll the dice,
The results will be disappointing.

But for those foolish few,
Who paid the ultimate price...
Which side is fit for you-
Was it Chaos that did entice?
Succubi are comely creatures,
Born of lust and sin,
Was it their ardent wiles,
That finally did you in?

Perhaps it was Order,
That you desperately craved,
To rule on high in life,
Before your soul is eternally enslaved.

Wild and unpredictable,
The demons may be,
But is rigid Order any better...
What evil is best for me?

Both will tempt you sorely,
With sights yet unseen,
Of unique, exotic destinations
Like no place you've ever been,
But once you come to know them,
You'll no longer be so keen,
For the Lower Planes are twisted,
Unlike anything you've ever seen.

So be prepared for torment,
Gird yourself to the core,
For there is no escaping,
This eternal war,
Across the Planes and along the Styx,
To the river's very shore,
Perhaps it's best to take a drink,
And forget everything you adore...

Wild and unpredictable,
The demons may be,
But is rigid Order any better...
What evil is best for me?

Now you've heard a little,
Of the infamous Blood War,
Mayhap you are a bit concerned,
For what fate has in store,
Be careful of your dealings,
your underhanded deeds,
For the price might be steep indeed,
To sate your mortal needs...

Wild and unpredictable,
The demons may be,
But is rigid Order any better...
What evil is best for me?

For me, I walk the middle road,
No Law or Chaos for me,
I prefer to indulge in both,
And let my soul remain free...

Necromantic Queen

Few can imagine the power,
of our necromantic queen.
The ruler of the Red Tower,
both beautiful and mean...
Her Art is undeniable,
So approach on bended knee.
For her lover is certifiable...
Hasten now and make your plea!

Her smile is cut from sordid deeds,
her figure, a Sharessan's dream.
But don't be quick to voice your needs,
or she will make you scream!
Her legs extend into eternity.
Her skin the palest hue,
but if she catches you looking,
it might be the last thing you do!

Abyssal spells, death knells, and rituals of the obscene,
nothing's beyond the power of our necromantic queen!

"Rumor speaks of her riches,
a hoard of gold beyond compare,
but don't approach with open palm
she's won't so easily share.
Yet, there are times the purse strings loosen,
coins clinking endless and bright!
For vengeance is a costly affair,
she puts no price tag on spite!

A keen intellect rests beyond those eyes,
she is no mere pretty face.
To underestimate her would be unwise.
You might vanish without a trace!

Abyssal spells, death knells, and rituals of the obscene,
nothing's beyond the power of our necromantic queen!

Best not to risk her ire,
for you'll meet a gruesome end.
You'll roast in Arcane fire,
or suffer wounds you cannot mend!
There's little chance in weathering,
such a harrowing barrage,
but if you fall in the battle...
You'll join her undead entourage!"

To serve her forever,
in undeath's unholy blight.
Your soul bound to a rotting husk,
never again to see the light.
Serving faithfully without rest or sleep,
all for an obscure slight...
Regret your boon companion,
as you lament an endless plight.

Abyssal spells, death knells, and rituals of the obscene,
nothing's beyond the power of our necromantic queen!

But shorn of life,
your manners bare,
becoming a proper gentleman.
No more strife,
you'll have no care,
as you persist as a skeleton!

Yet there is another path.
More than one, you see...
For our queen has many servants,
even a shy banshee!

Abyssal spells, death knells, and rituals of the obscene,
nothing's beyond the power of our necromantic queen!

Perhaps singing isn't for you,
yet you crave an important station
Well, worry not; I know just the thing...
You'll perform as an abomination!

Maybe you were a priest in life,
or some paladin with unshakable faith?
Now it's time to serve your new goddess,
as you endure as a shadowy wraith!

Abyssal spells, death knells, and rituals of the obscene,
nothing's beyond the power of our necromantic queen!

Our queen is indeed a svelte creature,
so curvaceous and yummy...
She'll melt your mind and steal your heart,
before making you a mummy!

If her beauty captivates,
enthralling you with just a glance.
Then a zombie you shall be,
before awakening from your trance!

Abyssal spells, death knells, and rituals of the obscene,
nothing's beyond the power of our necromantic queen!

Are you one of those arrogant males,
prone to crow and boast?
Perhaps you'll find more substance,
in death as a ghost!"

Our queen loves all her subjects,
even the dark and cruel.
So bare your fangs, stick out that tongue,
as you praise her as a ghoul!

Abyssal spells, death knells, and rituals of the obscene,
nothing's beyond the power of our necromantic queen!

So bend the knee, swear an oath,
and become our queen's loyal knight!
She'll make you better, enhance your strength,
as you guard her as a menacing wight.

For the truly lucky ones,
who willingly join her empire.
Our queen will make you an officer,
leading her legions as a vampire!

Abyssal spells, death knells, and rituals of the obscene,
nothing's beyond the power of our necromantic queen!

So now you heard my song of praise,
now you should be prepared,
if you ever come across my queen,
heed this advice; you'll be spared!

For she is the necromantic queen -
a beauty beyond compare.
So raise your glass and make a toast,
to our beloved lady of despair!

~ An orcish life ~ By Sheogh Longtooth

And orcish life goes with a HACK! HACK! HACK! in different shades of reeeeeed!
Their necks will snap with a KNACK! KNACK! KNACK! And then they all drop deaaaaad!"

Their Backs will break, their skin grows old, age a thousand years! Blood is COLD! COLD! COLD!

An orcish life for meeeeeee!

An orcish life for meeeeeee!

Sung by Baldissere, during a Fool's Clover show - an ode to sea gods:

"The bell tolled,
I heard the storm cutting through,
The midnight air,
Lady Tempest herself came to play.

Waves crash against,
Rip through the piers,
Her fury knew no bounds,
Hells hath know her wrath.

I stood on the cliffside,
Towers of water showering me,
She called to me from within the sea,
Beckoning me to leap into her embrace.

I didn’t even feel myself jump,
All I felt was the salt in my mouth,
And the tides that yanked me under,
Like when I’d pull my blanket to hide from beasts.

I dare not open my eyes,
Or lungs,
I felt her lips on mine,
But I knew she wanted my breath,
And I had not enough left to give.

The torrent spun me into the embrace,
It was warm and soft,
And I was fine with it not being air,
The water had a lovely kiss."

A favorite I heard from Hamish Mirthfoot:

The Swords of A Thousand Hin

Deep in Arelith forest Fighting the war
We were ready
the fire in us burned tall
"Hoo Yah", went the Hin down below
All outside was the rain and snow

Hear their shouts, hear their roar
They've probably all had a barrel or much, much more
Hoo Yah, Hoo Yah, Hoo Yah, Hey,
Take back the Dales with the swords of a thousand Hin

We had to meet the banites a mile away
Thunder in the air and the skies turned gray
we assembled the ambush
Our swords were sharp
There was hope in our Hinish hearts
Hear our roar, hear our sound
We're gonna fight until we've won back our town
Hoo Yah, Hoo Yah, Hoo Yah Hey,
Take back the Dales with the swords of a thousand Hin

Our traps and tricks we sprang
At the end of the day
Few banites were-alive.
the rest had run away
In this way well fight, In this way we'll win
None can crush the spirit of the Bendir Hin

Hear our triumph, in our roar
We're gonna drink a barrel or much, much more
Hoo Yah, Hoo Yah, Hoo Yah Hey
Taking back the dales with the swords of a thousand Hin

The Waterdeep Lass

Post by Martin Colt » Tue Jul 04, 2023 6:40 am

So, I, fell in love with a Waterdeep lass
And when I tried to kiss her she put me on by ars*
But later that day I am happy to say
In my bed was where she lay

Chorus:
I'll sing you a song of a lady so fair
A mean right hook that laid me low, down where
I could look up at her and plainly see
This was the woman the woman for me

Verse 2:

Now I was not the only suitor in town
There was man in red who wore a frown
Ah, but a smile, a wink, and a little sword play
I was the one who whisked her away

Chorus:
I'll sing you a song of a lady so fair
A mean right hook that laid me low down where
I could look up at her and plainly see
This was the woman the woman for me

Verse 3:

Now I am no noble born knight
I admit I tend to play around at night
But a promise of scorched loins, one and all
I'm committed to her, only, until the skies do fall

Verse 4:
And now here I sit by the fire so bright
I dream of her now though she's out of sight
And if she should ask where I've been this day
It's by this fire and away from swordplay

Chorus:
I'll sing you a song of a lady so fair
A mean right hook that laid me low down where
I could look up at her and plainly see
This was the woman the woman for me

This is a ballad of Hiatea's deeds mostly written from a joten perspective from my character Imor.

Yon daughter of hunt, fair and fine.
Risen unknown from thy father thine.
Lo, her Linje a secret held.
Risen in naught but simple weald.

with grace of doe and strength of bear.
Wilds given she, These art her care.
Guide we with thine gentle hand.
As we hunt betwixt these untamed lands

O’, Hiatea, skalds sing with risen voice.
Thine honour, thine might, our hearts rejoice.
Thy legacy wrought with naught but pride.
In every step the giant’s stride.

Ere her grace were risen unto kin.
Trials taken sought begin.
Daring feats and beast to fell.
Tasks of valour see thine cos’ compel.

Tis thus thine brother sought spear wrought.
For thine rite, thine labour and these battles fought.
A feat unmatched, Triumph adored.
Hydra felled with fifty head or more.

O’, Hiatea, skalds sing with risen voice.
Thine honour, thine might, our hearts rejoice.
Thy legacy wrought with naught but pride.
In every step the giant’s stride.

Beast slain; trophy left unto thine fathers’ behest.
A symbol of prowess eternally blessed.
Such Hydra's demise, a testament of might.
A token victory, a gleaming sight.

“Oh, noble huntress, carry thine head high”.
“Thy triumph, not even I decry”.
“Sons of mine come round and gather.”

“Hiatea, goddess, all-father’s daughter”

Out... Out of mine kitchen. Away with thee!

A Valkuryte Prayer/Sea Shanty, passed down through generations and shamelessly stolen by Shanty ding ding.

The Sea is My Muse

I miss the moonlight, hidden by clouds, it hides away, it hides a-way.
I miss my home, the markets and crowds, I sail away, I sail a-way.

For the sea is my muse, a call I shan't refuse.

I cry, a cry, and once is all told, I'll fade away, I'll fade a-way.
With Valkur, my guide, I'll always be bold, until that day, until that day.

For the sea is my muse, a call I shan't refuse.

The storm is heavy, my ship bows and breaks, today's the day, today's that day.
I'll never see land, my heart hurts and aches, what else can I say, what else can I say.

For the sea is my muse, a call I shan't refuse...

Lo', gulls in the sky, flock up on high!
The piercing of light, through the dark stormy night!
Twas not the unknown, but The Mighty hath shown!
Yes, today is my own, and I'm coming back home!
For the sea is my muse! A call I shan't refuse!

For the sea is my muse, a call I shan't refuse...

Jesters Grin : Lady Ember Ravensborne

Tears that fall like rain,
But only in the dark,
All the unspoken pain,
Left in a shattered heart

Just Smile through it all,
Laugh and dance and sing,
Don’t let them see the tears that fall,
They won’t suspect a thing

The walls you build will keep you safe,
From heartbreak, loss and fear,
Stay within , behind that face,
Don’t let them see the tears

Play your song and let them dance,
Sway them with the lute,
Drink and sing in merry trance,
They’ll never know the truth

They don’t want to see Beneath,
The shadows deep and dark,
They don’t care that hearts still bleed,
Once they’re torn apart

They’ll never know the lies you tell,
Nor the gaping hole within,
Just keep smiling and all is well,
Just hold the jesters grin.

Blackwell Court : Wren Bluefeather

Yawning maw of endless dark
Swallows all the light
No glimmer, not a single spark
In this perpetual night

Hallway twists and then it turns
Claws on stone do scrape
Within Undead black heart burns
For blood with mouth agape

Foulness rises from below
The place of grave resort
No, my dearest never go
Down the hole in Black well court

In the shadows, time he bides
For prey to wander near
When the fangs no longer hide
You’ll know the truth of fear

Strike fast with stake or magic blade
Do not linger there
For Evil lies in coffin bed
Within the vampire’s lair

Foulness rises from below
The place of grave resort
No, my dearest never go
Down the hole in Black well court

Starlight love : Lady Ember Ravensborne

Oh starlight love, oh Sunlight Day!
without you i am lost
by your side i'll ever stay
no matter what the cost

the sun he crests the eastern sky
to kiss the world a-new
and you, my love ,
are by my side benieth a sky so blue

'neith stars i lay in your embrace
no more peaceful could i feel
within your arms, my one true place
with you my dreams are real

Oh starlight love, oh Sunlight Day!
without you i am lost
by your side i'll ever stay
no matter what the cost

never before , never again
never another hear
t i've found in you my truest friend
from you i will not part

Oh starlight love, oh Sunlight Day!
without you i am lost
by your side i'll ever stay
no matter what the cost

heart , soul and friend most fair
An eternity in your eyes
let us ever be a pair
and our love be not disguised

oh starlight love, oh friend most true
these verse are yours to keep
three simple words: I love you
for you my heart doth beat

oh starbright love, oh dearest fried
without you i can not live
i will be with you until the end
and to you my heart i will give

The Tuskian Warband book of history in song
Chronos 1

By Vrork Sharager, Chronicler and scribe

1
The ballad of the making

Let me tell you a story, where strengh and honour abound,
The hoarde camp was broken and battered, with no warriors around,

Then came the Gor brothers,  Lock and Fang,
took a look around, and the forges started to clang,

With Elder blood, determination and honour so bold,
A mighty stronghold they built anew, just as times of old

They birthed the Tuskian warband, embedded in tradition,
and with battle and gaul, forged its revered position.

Many a kin from near and far did join the mighty band,
brother and sister all of them, for their blood is what they stand.

So drink and be merry all half-orc kin, for the future is bright,

For half-orc kin has found their voice, and it shall be heard with deafening might

Strengh and valor! Haaar

2
The ballad of big red

Now the warband born, seeking to fight,
To bond in enemies blood,
that their strenghs may unite.

Upon their ship they sailed,
accross the treacherous sea,
none could have envisioned,
what hell there was to be.

To red dragon island course was set,
For treasure and the glory,
An adventure of courage and valor, to write thier bloody story

With captain at helm, and warriors held tight,
They finally made land ahoy,

Through hoardes of giant enemy, this warband relentlessly tore,
Fighting through with glory, leaving trails of bloody gore,

A towering dragon they finally reached, a mountain of firey red.
The master of the island it was, who sought to have them dead.

The dragons minions spells unleashed,
The place a living hell, although the warband fought with valor, some of their number fell.

But through the red mists the blades still tore,
More and more and more,

A storm of vengeance upon the dragon, untill it wanted no more.

Up it flew the hulking beast, mighty flaps and away,
the gusts of wind blasting the warband, watching in dismay.

Disappointment burned in them all, as their failure to slay did ache,
But quickly gone were these feelings,
Dragon treasures theirs to take
Haaarrrr!

3
The searchers of ancient steel

Our mighty warband, strong and new,
did know of legend of steel so true,

Once known arts, lost to time, they sought to reclaim them, to forge weapons of prime

To the depths they marched, seeking what had been lost,
Caring not for their mortality, or the irreverent cost.

Standing against, would be death,
Courageous and honourable, to their last breath,

They found the keepers who saw their blood true,
The old ways reborn, to forge steel anew,

Through hallowed halls of ancient shrine,
The warband marched accross centuries of time,

Found they the key to the ancients steel,
The warband enhanced, with deadly zeal,

A new path forged, the old ways revived,
Successfull they were, in that what they strived.

Haaar!

I have two songs from different characters that are originals written for the setting.

To the Dale wrote:

I went from Mayfield’s to the Dale
As I wandered, roamed and pondered,
Came upon a silver stream.
The autumn breeze bid me sit down
And carried me to gentle dream.

A whisper of glad tidings
Was then upon the air.
It sang of shining forests.
And flowers bright and fair.

I lingered as the seasons passed
From autumn unto winter.
As snow heaped on my brow,
Still then did I linger.

And watched the stream
As it became a crystal road
Snow piled ‘neath the canopy
Where once the doe had strode.

I lingered for a moment still.
And heard the birds’ spring song
As the sun kissed life into the world.
My time had come and gone.

Lament on Miyeritar wrote:

Vanished light from ancient towers, /
Riven are our sanctuaries.

Spangled by the white of flowers. /
Watch as grace from shadow flees.

Hear the weeping of our women, /
Hear the cries of children slain.

Flayed by storms, their mem’ry dimming, /
Miyeritar, we mourn in vain.

Mourn your secrets and your beauty, /
Mourn what none of us have seen.

Charge us with a solemn duty:
To forge anew what could have been.

So comes from the depths a whisper,
Whispers swell into a song.

“We abide and still we linger.
In the darkness we’ve grown strong.”
