Arelith

So I recently found my old graphics tablet, and I'm planning to create a short 3-minute animation of some of the characters on Arelith, accompanied by a song that matches, and maybe make it seem like they're singing it. I'll put down my progress in the way of storyboards, character involvements, and the song - though I'm yet to find one I like. I'm currently just putting this here as an excuse to motivate myself into doing this!

So, what I've got so far.

Theme: Underdark based. Mostly Andunor, rather than Udos & Pit Town.

Planning: The first section of the song will be based around the Slaves of Andunor, and some of the Outcasts. The later part would be more based around the Drow, Duergar, Gnolls, Goblins and Kobolds. I'm going to give each character around 5 seconds of either singing in a stance or doing an action fitting to their character.

I'm also planning on having all the characters in the same room, the camera panning over them doing whatever as they sing - and for the last scene having them all in one shot. Whether I can actually do this with my meager skills in Flash is questionable, but I'll give it a go!

I want in, I'm a professional animator. We can collaborate as flash files are easy and small to transfer.

I can do audio mixing and stuff.

Wow, this is intimidating. I should say that I've little to no experience with either animation, or drawing, and will be probably be doing this for a few months to perhaps a year. I can't promise the animation to be perfect, or even /good/. I'd feel too nervous and anxious to work with anyone else, sorry!

After some consideration, I've decided that I don't like the song I selected as the original, does anyone have any ideas? I'd prefer something soft, with an upbeat kick to it as well.

Status Quo - Mystery Song (might be a bit heavy/fast)
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising
Voltaire - When you're Evil (In fact, any Voltaire song is quite good. Worth a listen.)
Pokey LaFarge - Garbage Man blues (his songs have a lot of bluesy light hearted sort of Spongebob'y sounding stuff, if you did want to take it in a more humorous direction)
Bathory - Ring of Gold (more melodic)

Maybe even some ska songs, like Arthur Kay and The Originals - Ska Wars

Looking at the suggestions, I like the Voltaire song as well as Bathory. I'm currently drawing up the extremely rough storyboards now so I get an idea of what I'm doing, and once that's done I'll choose a definite song.

idk about animation but I'm an artist myself and going to college for it. I'd love to collaborate on something too! This sounds really cool!

I'm actually still working on this! Sadly, I don't get much time to work on it so it's slow going. I'll make sure to update this with the storyboards eventually, when I scan them over digitally.
