Blackguard Build

I was looking at the blackguard builds. I like the 8 fighter, 5 rogue, 17 bg. With some edits. But I want to and can throw in hide and move silently. The one I use will have 10 DeX.

Will I lose out on AC by using Armor/shield with low penalty to H/MS VS heavy armors/shields?

Also is there anyway to incorporate a use of ultravison? In game items or other?

Sneaking isn't really an option in heavy armor, and losing heavy armor and shield for sneaking is never worth it as a STR-based build. There are, however, DEX variants of BG. BG can also be used as a dump of 3 levels in a lot of builds to unlock divine feats, i.e. divine grace (+saves equal to charisma modifier), divine shield, and divine might (AC and damage equal to charisma modifier for rounds equal to charisma modifier).

Ultravision is readily available as wands and found in many player shops throughout the game. Your build would have UMD, which is required for wands.

The DEX variants of the BG-heavy builds are:
Rogue13/BG17 (melee)
Rogue4/Ranger10/BG16 (ranged)
Bard4/Ranger10/BG16 (ranged)
Rogue4/Fighter10/BG16 (melee)
Rogue10/Fighter4/BG16 (melee)

Rogue13/BG17 is my favourite because it gets Epic Dodge, which is really really good. Archery on Arelith is fun and the BG summons and arrow crafting from the Ranger's archer path make it a viable option.

Here are two templates engineered by Kenji for the hobgoblin race. Almost any race should work, really.
