Ogres as Half-Orcs?

Is there a particular reason for Ogre PCs to be considered Half-Orcs and not Giants?

You're talking about PC characters, right?
Its probably got something to do with using half orcs as the base class, and there was some interaction with spot/lore that would give you the correct race (ogre) or the base race (half orc)
I think
