Tankiest Animal Companion

What would you say is the most tanky animal companion? There's no info on the forums or wiki that I can find about what they actually get.

Bear is not really tanky, yeah it has the most hp but its ac is rather low in comparison. Hp is good don't get me wrong, but hp does not count for much against epic mobs whereas ac does.
