Polymorphing mechanics questions

Post by Fume » Tue Mar 26, 2024 2:45 am

Hi,
Was hoping to get some answers on a few questions I had.
Firstly, I will just note that I dont want to take Druid levels.
Im trying to build on a shaman idea i had.
I cant multiclass with Monk, coz alignment but here goes.

Is it worth getting weapon specialisation unarmed combat to use when polymorphed?
Do your attribute scores matter?
The polymorphed form attributes doesnt seem to change regardless of attribute values?
Is shapechange polymorph easily dispelled?(doesnt seem so)
Any other advice or tricks to consider when playing a shape change form would be much appreciated

Polymorph self and shapechange spells can be dispelled, but it's based on your caster level dc versus the casters dispel strength.

Polymorph self and shapechange both have their own stats that aren't based on your hard stats, but soft bonuses will apply like zoo spells and aura of vitality. These are the physical stats Str/Dex/Con btw. Mental stats like Wis/Int/Cha will use your base.

Forms will also have a spell duration, so you'll unshift after awhile.

Some unarmed feats will help with these forms, but they really won't be that impressive in the end.

Recent Characters:
Aramis - "S'fine piece of art yer havin' there." (Shelved)
Eradyn - Trying to make the world a better place. (Shelved)
[Redacted] - ? (?)
Skek - Happiness in Endless Industry. (Rolled)
