Community Development - Craftable Robes.

It was pointed that we lack robe craftable options, so I thought this might be another good option for another spot of community development.

Rules:

- Leave a post here, with the name, description, and abilities of the robes. (I'm really hoping to get some get great descriptions/themes)

- These should be useable only by core caster classes (Mage/Sorcerer/Cleric/Druid) exclusively (Please specify)

- Don't forget to add in what you feel their components for crafting should be.

- Don't suggest any strange scripted features you haven't seen used elsewhere - These should follow ONLY the options available when making items in the toolset, plus, potentially, a rune slot.

Once we have a dozen or so entries, I'll run a poll open for all players to choose their favourites, then subject to a balance assessment add some into the crafting matrix hopefully before Christmas (If we get enough suggestions)

Description:
The original creator of these robes had thought to combine efficiency with fashion. He can safely claim to have accomplished at least one of those things.
While the high-quality cloth and enchantments used in its creation speak of the robe's quality, the garish colors leave much to be desired for the more modest wizard.

Seemingly woven from the flesh of dead shades as a kind of sacrament, with every move this iridescent diaphanous fabric seems to shift and mold itself to your form. On closer examination the robe seems to whisper faint voices of knowledge and vengeance only you can hear, the words changing into silhouettes of your own as you continue to wear it and listen.

Have some robes! On the more Thematic side

LOW LEVEL (ish)

Apprentice Garb - Bonus spell slot level 1 (wiz) (x2), +1 int

Charmer's Garb - Bonus spell slot level 1 (sorc) x2 +1 Cha

Priest's robe - Bonus spell slot level 1 (cleric) x2 +1 wis, bless 1/day

Walkers Coat - Bonus spell slot level 1 (Druid) x2 +1 Wis

(These should be very simple to make, Maybe Medium cloth and a thing specific to each class? EG holy water for the cleric)
Made to fit around level 3-8, Before you get the stuff for the mid-level equipment

Mid Level - These are filled just fine to be honest


High Level / "Endgame"

I reccomend high UMD for all of these, or even a "requirement of majority levels in this class"

Robe of the Arcanist - +2 INT, Bonus spell slot level 6/7/8 (WIZARD), +3 Concentration / Spellcraft.

These should be EXPENSIVE to make, As fitting an "arch-wizard", with rare materials.

Robe of Awakening - +2 Charisma, Bonus spell slot 7/8 (SORC) +3 Spellcraft / Concentration,

I was thinking of adding or suggesting an Unlimited spell / day for each robe, But Couldent think of one which would be balanced enough. That or a "spell immunity" to some thing.

Clerics already have a good "end-game Robe"


Druid - Leaves of the Wildwalker

+2 Wisdom, Haste 3/day, +3 Discipline +3 Concentration, Bonus spell slot 6/7/8 (Druid)

Now as a druid main, I may consider these instead of my Second skin, more variety could never hurt.

What about some of the old DMG items, like Robe of Eyes, Robe of Stars, Robe of Scintillating Colors?

Thats, Eyes 120 ft Darkvision, +10 spot,
Stars is +1 unisave and shuriken prof, creates five shuriken a day,
and scintillating colors is a Will-save attack and gives scaling concealment


Robe of Archmagi might be a little strong on the unisave, but maybe with a little adjustment? Or for the loot matrix?

Robe of the Archmagi

This normal-appearing garment can be white (01-45 on d%, good alignment), gray (46-75, neither good nor evil alignment), or black (76-100, evil alignment). Its wearer, if an arcane spellcaster, gains the following powers.

+5 armor bonus to AC.
Spell resistance 18.
+4 resistance bonus on all saving throws.
+2 enhancement bonus on caster level checks made to overcome spell resistance.


In general I'd really like to see a robe that grants a spell or a power, more than one that gives another incremental stat buff. Item's that have spells contained within them are a huge part of the wizard's kit, and not just wands. Rings, robes, staves, those are all very often items with /day or /week spells, when they're intended for wizards.

Nullifying crystals are sewn into the fabric of this robe, enabling it to dull the effects of magic. Unfortunately, the wearer is also affected; these robes should be worn with care.

Description:
It is rumored that the first of these outfits were designed by a highly eccentric travelling bard. The bard wandered the land, telling many tales, entertaining in both taverns and king's courts, all the while known to be fashionable and charming, with many admirers. During his wandering performances, he would sometimes keep an eye out for the most unlikely of persons to become his students. After one of his students completed their training, they would be left with one of these outfits, and be on their way to continue bardic traditions abroad.

The rumors surrounding the bard and their students are myriad, probably much to the joy of any bards who trade freely in such tall tales. Nevertheless, the stylish design is sure to make any wandering wearer draw the eyes of a large audience of admirers, probably much to the chagrin of any significant others they might have.

Magehound Garb

Designed by the Magehounds of Halruua, this garb is designed strictly for the purposes of spell combat, to aid a mage in battle against another spellcaster they might be fighting against. The enchantments woven into them are complex and myriad. Due to the expense of making these, only a few were made, but eventually the design found itself being copied abroad, much to the displeasure of the Magehounds.

With Mythic's permission I'm kinda basing my idea off the stats of theirs, as I suck at stats, but adding a bit of a descriptive twist to it.

Then three rubies, dipped in blood must be sewn into the garb, to create the 'Corpse Walkers Shroud.' A garb that gives it's wearer unholy protection, as well as insites of truths beyond the grave. It maintains the disgusting stench of death, however and occasioanly, if shaken out, will disgorge a cloud of maggots, flies and cadavar eating beatles that live and writhe in their constantly, but are willing to do the bidding of their wearer.'

There aren't many peoples with a dedicated tradition of innate magic. There are some however, like the creator of these robes. A small sect of people that followed the way of Io, the Concordant Dragon, designed this ritual attire for their arch-sorcerers. These innate magicians attempted to find balance within themselves and the world around them, and to try to understand the whole of the world around them, their powers, and their place within the great creation.

The curious attire still has this philosophy inlaid within the threads, and while it allows most sorcerers to help focus themselves and find their balance in a turbulent world, it has a side effect of not granting their powers if their bearer dedicates themselves to great extremes.

Often bringing both Joy and Laughter, Alongside the Occasional Nightmares, The suit is finely made and gives one a hardier stomach for their performance.

However the Clattering Bells make stealth increasingly difficult, and the Bright colouration causes one to be more easily spotted

An aspect of Clerics that is undervalued is the ability to Turn. Unfortunately, stock NWN doesn't treat this very well. It scales poorly. A fighter can have equipment that can raise their effective character level by 10 or more. Spell casters can have equipment that raises their spell slots. "At level" a Cleric would never have much chance to turn the level +50% creatures that the party would likely be encountering. But what of the devout who will wear something without standard bonuses to Wisdom in favor of being able to call upon their deity and inner strength to turn or destroy the unholy?

Robes of the Blessed Inquisitor

Description:
These bulky robes were originally created by a travelling order of exorcists. Not particularly suited for direct combat, these robes contain many internal pockets and pouches to be filled with holy herbs, water, and all manner of boons and banes, and are adorned with many holy symbols that span multiple faiths. All of these were originally geared towards banishing the influence of demons and ghosts that happened to possess people or places, though are just as suitable for any kind of foe a holy (or unholy) man might face in a spiritual clash.
The robe's design eventually circulated to other perspective exorcists, and holy men of other faiths. Given the design the robes are easily adapted to many different faiths.

Having been playing a Trueflame recently, I realize that no robe is very good for one. Nor Thematically ,So here goes.


Conduit of Elements

With the ever increasing height of his arcane prowess, The Sorcerer Tal-Khurzaad created these robes to give him a better sense of "safety" as he released spell after spell at his enemies. Woven with crushed Dragon-scales and enchanted against the elements. Tal-Khurzaad unfortunately met his end not from his own magic overwhelming him, But from his bodyguard who was tired of being hit by one to many fireballs.
