It's possible. Probable, maybe. Firbolgs are, after all, not half-giants.
Edit:
For more context, the weapon is based off of Hjurnur Wyrmrever -- a famous frost giant. Giants consider firbolgs maug(Not good), and probably wouldn't be pleased with a firbolg using a weapon created in memory of him.
Why are firbolgs maug? Longer conversation, but the tl;dr is that they're bastard children that don't have Annam's blood.
