Wizard or Cleric
If you only had to choose one between the two classes, which one would you choose?

I adore both classes but if I had to pick, Wizard allows for more freedom (and paperwork. I love paperwork.)

Re: Wizard or Cleric
All my wizard characters have been infinitely more fun than any cleric I've ever played.
Re: Wizard or Cleric
Cleric because f@$% spell components >:(
I wanna see more devout clerics rather than "my god gives me this tool and I use it to my own ends" clerics. Maybe I'll make one next.

Re: Wizard or Cleric
I like that mechanically wizard has built in something (trading spells) that encourages interaction with other wizards regardless of ethos. This can be a great lead in to RP of sharing research etc.
IMO Clerics tend to be better at interacting with their own "flock" as opposed to other clerics. Which can be great if the PC has started up an active cult but less so if interest is waning.
As far as leveling I far prefer cleric from 3-14 or so when spellslots are limited and spell durations are short. Even with GSF infi-casting it can be a bit boring. 15+ or so I like wizard more. With the advent of spellswords though a lot of the low level passive play can be avoided.

Cleric.
Wizard was never my stuff and how almost every mage IG has vague morals and would cast/do wharever because mechanical advantages it drives me off. I like how clerics are restricted in their acts by their gods and dogmas.

Wizard.
Magic is a language. A very IC language that is not spoken through commands or any language system. It is the expression of the interpretation of the lore, everybody has their own accent, and speaking magic is the epitome of nerdic nerdism.
No character can speak magic with the fluent demeanor of a wizard.

Wizard. I cast not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence.
