Out of curiosity, what height do you prefer to pick for your characters?
I've found that I like to tap Average a few times until my character winds up on the smaller end of Average.
My current character is "Above Average" and she outright towers over a good number of people.
i always go for as short or tall as possible, with a bias towards shorties
if i don't have anything better to spend a normal award on, it usually goes towards the +/- 7% height option
Smaller toons are generally harder to point-click
One of the reasons why I dislike fey as a playable race
For any basic race I'll hit Above Average since I'm taller myself. Not that it matters much on a halfling.
For elves in particular though, I'll choose based on their lore. 'Below Average' for drow as the shortest subrace, or 'Tall' for Aquatic Elf since they're the tallest subrace, for example.
I usually base that decision on my build. My higher-strength and -constitution characters I tend to make larger-framed, and my smaller characters tend to have worse physical stats.
Depends on the character!
I'd have answered average, but then I checked out my chars, and they are in fact below or small. LOL.
i'm afraid i'm quite basic in that i prefer to be on the taller end of things where applicable
recently i try to just use whatever the average spits out. help diversify the average silhouette you'll find.
I bet all those 13 votes for short are just Ginny logging on different forum accounts.
Average, because I am lazy. I have more than enough other stuff to do when making a character, and I prefer average in most things while I figure out what I'm doing with them.
It's seems like typical human behavior that most votes be split between these two extremes, then everyone else evenly divided in the middle.
Almost always short, always reroll a few times until I get as short as possible. The only times I don't do this is when height gets some kind of mechanical advantage, like in some Bethesda games where taller characters run slightly faster. Also have a huge propensity for halflings, gnomes, gloamings and all things small.
Honestly not sure why, always have done on any game and I'm average height IRL.
Most characters seem to have "taller than average" in their description.
But if the average of characters is "taller than average", what does that even mean anymore?
I'm tall in real life, and I tend to choose tall or short heights for characters (nothing in-between) with a bias towards tall. Despite all that, I mostly play "small stature" ancestries, primarily because of the lesser popularity of shorter ancestries. I guess I have a contrarian streak. I do like the portal access they tend to have as well.
Life is good.
