Arcane Archers with Ranger Animal Companions

Ranger Animal Companions are nice flavor, but they are just so darn squishy. you really have to go into the 20's and above in Ranger before your companion can even survive mild encounters with the most average of foes...

As such, people with ranger-dips barely even bring their animal companion out, if at all.

Now that we have Hacks... I suggest linking Ranger Animal Companaions to Arcane Archer levels. So that if you have whatever minimum levels required to summon an Animal Companion, Levels in Arcane Archer beef your companion the same way that ranger-levels would beef your companion... Maybe it could even be linked to Totem-Ranger... where if you are high enough Ranger-level to get to the (FOIG) npc to activate a totem... then your AA levels count towards the level of your companion.

-if for nothing else, so we get some more flavorful AA's that hunt with their hawks, and wolves, or use their bears, etc...

wouldn't that be fun!!

I think something along these lines would be good, perhaps not just for Arcane Archer but to allow a % of non-ranger levels to allow for a stronger companion.
