Tinker Gem Cutting
So I had an uncut ruby
I wanted the ruby, and I really wanted the dust
As far as I recall, upon completion of a project, the tinker hands you both gem and dust.
This time however, the grubbing little berk kept it to himself!!!
So yes - Tinker does not give ruby dust and ruby, just ruby. Please can this be fixed? Thanks.

Re: Tinker Gem Cutting
Actually if you read his dialog he clearly states that while he cuts gems he keeps the resulting dust for himself.
Re: Tinker Gem Cutting
He does? Darn. Oh well.
I was sure he gave dust too... maybe check that side of it then?

Re: Tinker Gem Cutting
It's probably for balancing reasons. There are a whole lot of useful gem dusts, and it's cool to get it from a PC rather than a NPC. Especially because the former promotes roleplay, and the latter does not.

Oh, I'm not complaining particularly! I'm Ok with it just giving gems, not dusts, honestly I am! And if it says so, then that's really my own silly fault for not noticing! I just had a feeling that previously I've been given both gem and dust and, if that's true, it may be worth changing.
Re: Tinker Gem Cutting
Aw, I see! The Tinker is a strange one, alright. I'd not be surprised if he once did give you the dust, but then it was stopped. Or if he only does it on the third Tuesday of every month. Or something equally ridiculous.
Gnomes.
Gnomes.

Re: Tinker Gem Cutting
The Tinker likes some dusts better then others, just read carefully when you bargain with him.

Re: Tinker Gem Cutting
If every tinker does that, then be sure there are tinkers on the surface too... Well, there are, but not sure if this option is only available to certain tinkers or for everyone. First notice to me that there was an npc cutting gems...Drake Strongfist wrote:This must be a UD thing cuz I'm over here like "what the hell is a tinker?"
Damn, and I gave some time ago a bunch to certain pc that kept for him not only all the dusts, but also 50% of the gems, the greedy one!
I requested the cut of the gems offering a 25% and he kept the 50%... worse than a gnome even!...
