Guild House suggestion

Post by WinkinBlinkin » Fri Aug 10, 2018 4:31 pm

Let guild houses be owned by factions, rather than players.

In order to own a guild house and control the front door lock, a faction must own 50% or more of the quarters within.

If a faction takes ownership of a guildhouse, non-faction members have access for either a week, or until they are bought out by the owning faction, whichever is longest.

If a guild house drops below 50% faction ownership, a message is given upon logging in, and a week's grace is given to fill the quarters, otherwise the front door lock is no longer secured. All internal properties are still owned by the usual person, with the same week's protection if the guild house changes hands.

This will mean that guild houses cannot be owned without being filled, though they can certainly be used in the interim. It also gives a measure of security to those taking quarters within guildhouses, because they are not at risk of losing everything if the guild leader does not log in. They would actually have a whole month of the guild owning the guild house, and would be able to see the last time the guild was refreshed using the factions menu.

[edit] It would also allow people to join a different faction, and drop the first one, either to secure themselves against absent leaders, or to perform a coup on the current leaders. Any faction that had majority ownership would have front door access, even if it meant more than one faction had access.
