HAK Spells
With a few threads lately pertaining to casters, and the advent of HAKs here soon, I wanted to make a poll to see which spell casting classes people think are in more dire need of additional spell options; be it spells they would not normally have access to in NWN, or simply brand new spells not in game yet.
Obviously I don't think only one caster class ought to see a change to their spell-book, but I am curious which classes people think ought to be the highest priority! Plus I've never made a poll before, so this seems like a good enough reason to give it try.

Re: HAK Spells
IT's absolutely Druid - it's missing core spells, such as zoo buffs, flame weapon, and greater magic weapon.
Re: HAK Spells
Clerics definitely. They need to be brought to parity with Wizards... at least in terms of number of spells if not power.
Re: HAK Spells
Druid got my vote too, not because druids are underpowered, far from it, but because they're really narrow, and far less exciting than they are in P&P
I'd also like a path for druid that forgoes wild shape (especially the unnatural forms) in favour of greater spellcasting.

Druid and Bard. Irongron hit on Druid perfectly.
PnP Bards had different types of songs though. Would be nice to learn things like Song of Stone (More or less Stoneskin), and maybe some others, tied to Bard Song.
I've seen some servers where Bards had to find secret NPCs to learn multiple different songs. And they got mini-quests to perform before the NPC would grant them. So... Would be fun to see this. But I'd love to see more offensive spells akin to Searing Light, Fireball, and such.

Re: HAK Spells
I choose bard, because at least druids are fun to play. If you're trying to play an actual bardic bard, you are, by all accounts, pretty much dooming yourself to a life of unabated suffering. HAKs which not only open up more spells to Bards, but higher spell circles in some way (maybe GSF would give bards a once-per-day casting of some 9th level spell, or we could see a feature like the College of Lore in 5e where you can choose another class to cast spells from), would make it a lot more tolerable of an experience, I think.
Then again, maybe those are more a subject of class mechanics than the actual spells themselves. ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭

Cleric. Where is the create food/water miracle? Where is the bless/corrupt water miracle(creates holy or unholy water)? Where is the featherweight miracle(make something lighter for a little while)? Enspell field(defend against dispells)? Heaven's judgement?
Where is THIS gem? https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Avatar_(3.5e_Spell)
And this one : https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Ahriman%2 ... .5e_Spell)
Also blood to acid looks fun, as does sinister regeneration.

The funny thing is, Durvayas, in most online d&d communities you would have just committed social faux pas, by linking dandwiki. It's notorious for having poorly balanced spells. You might notice the homebrew banner at the top of those pages. Mechanics aside, they're some cool concepts.

Re: HAK Spells
It's true. My tabletop DM hates that site with a passion. And after having a look myself at some of the homebrewed classes, I can kind of see why.CosmicOrderV wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 10:24 pmThe funny thing is, Durvayas, in most online d&d communities you would have just committed social faux pas, by linking dandwiki. Re: HAK Spells
I'm going to buck the trend and say arcane casters.
The reason for this is all the utility spells. Levitate, Fly, Tenser's Floating Disk, Short Range Teleports, Telekinesis, Walk Through Walls, etc... those spells that generally have no effect in combat, but make life easier.
Cleric has the same sort of problem (as noted above). Utility spells are what makes these classes shine.

Re: HAK Spells
Really the answer is all of those ! If we can get utility spells rather than combat spells, that would be awesome.

Re: HAK Spells
Pretty much ditto Irongron on druids. Zoo buffs and some elemental evocations plus caster path would be fantastic. Though, I would legit use spell slots for a hypothetical encumbrance-boosting Floating Disc on my wizard during material gathering runs.
Re: HAK Spells
Druids and Bards, I agree.
Clerics and Sorc/Wiz will likely get HaK spells quite easily, plenty are readily available and will be easy to implement so they're not really a concern, Druids and Bards however as everyone else has stated are in dire need of more tools at their disposal.
I love the idea of a Druid that forgoes wildshape for the sake of superior spellcasting and bards having a variety of songs that all have different effects, on top of more spells in general for them too. I'd also be interested in seeing a more spell/song focused bard path instead of the standard hybrid set up.
