Re: Quarter Ownership
I answered something else because I think for some characters having a closet or a wee hovel or whatever for a living space is fitting, or if it isn't fitting it's at least funny to be a royal arse drow or such and have to settle for a dingy little flat because the rent is too damn high. So style ov...

Automatic Still Spell I ASF reduction doesn't apply to shields
Description of Bug Experienced: Automatic Still Spell ASF reduction doesn't seem to applying to shields despite the wiki description stating that it reduces the total ASF by 5%: https://wiki.nwnarelith.com/Feat_changes Additionally, the information about the ASF reduction isn't included in the in-g...

Re: Monk Overhaul Feedback
You could give -pray the Sprint treatment. Make -pray into its own actual feat in the radial menu and the monk feats affecting -pray would upgrade it similarly to Sprint upgrading into Ki Sprint.

Re: Summon Adjustments
I don't mind it except for the time investment because I'm too busy. I get it from a resource perspective, nice for the player-driven economy, an equalizing effect. There must be other stuff that doesn't make sense lore-wise that we just happily coexist with. It's just a chore I wish I didn't have t...

Re: Summon Adjustments
I understand the change. PvM has been trivialised by summons. The different spellbooks that casters get, especially some having mass haste and the others not, would make balancing between classes more difficult, especially for undead streams with multiple summons, so it's a good baseline to equalize...

Re: HARBINGER FEEDBACK
Maybe make the new feats' ingame descriptions follow a format consistent with base NWN? I think other Arelith feats have followed it. https://ibb.co/54R9H7K into https://ibb.co/1zySLn2 Also, the Massacre feat feels superfluous. It's a feat that adds Gruesome Technique. Why not just give Gruesome Tec...

Cool! I made the same thing using R and expected values over simulation, but never got around to learning how to make the UI so it's just been for private use. This is so nice to get to share!

Re: New Monk Discussion - Design, Concept, Mechanics, Roleplay
A very cool overhaul, you've clearly put a lot of thought and heart into it! I will be commenting the Spiritual Discipline from a pretty base designey point of view. If this is the wrong thread, please point me to the right one and I'll post this there. If the design is too far along already for the...

Re: Shadowdancer Rework Brainstorming Megathread
I wonder if it's feasible just to add and remove the HiPS feat on cooldown and hasClassSdX conditions and if this would effectively fix the bitchiness that just results from you having the feat? For the teleport ability it helps to keep a short leash, and I think it's possible to calculate the chang...

Re: Summons that cast spells
Caster summons are awesome conceptually! Here are some tried and proved ways of improving summons with heavy focus on casting abilities: -Add dialog options to change their combat behaviour, i.e. make them not cast. -Add dialog options for buffing outside combat and turn off buff spells in combat sc...

If the mechanic exists or partly exists to destroy items, okay then I suppose. I thought it's there to incentivise people to interact by needing to buy kits or ask for repairs.

Re: Option to see all damaged equipment with current and full "health".
Also rather than an item actually breaking at 0, just make it unusable and unequip at 1 before repaired. An obvious failsafe with the age-old arse of full inventory dropping the item but immensely better than not having it.

UD and Skal are my faves, heartily recommend. I never feel myself as a tagalong there and the denser layout makes it easier to find amigos. I also relish the chaos!

Re: Prisoner Backstory
As far as IC goes, troublemakers tend to be ostracised rather than incarcerated. However, Forgotten Realms has prisons and labor camps, so wouldn't personally find either an unseemly choice for a character background. My own idea is that player actions don't reflect the day-to-day of the rabble and ...

Re: Server has become overwhelmingly negative it feels
I think Janitor's point about being charitable with the benefit of the doubt is important. I think a solid and friendly OOC rapport especially ingame can ameliorate some situations where your actions as a player become blurred with those of your character. Nothing wrong about wishing well to the oth...

Re: Unpopular Opinion: Replace or Remove the Monk
I once made a monk inspired by Kungfu Panda. I probably knew FR lore from before I even had history in school, so whatever FR has been has predated the real world so the mishmash of influences and genres has never struck me as odd. My point being that I represent a cadre of players who, while taking...

Re: Arelith Deities and their Banned Domains
Gond bans Destruction? About building stuff. But controlled demolition goes hand in hand with construction. Knowing how to take down constructs is also extremely Gond-y. TBH I think it's very possible to overthink some of these. I worry a bit about limiting creativity if you're only going by casual...

w00ty, this is neat! You are a treasure.
Is it possible to choose which buffs to track? Or do I simply customise the json to my liking? I would personally only want to track round-based stuff so this kind of categorisation would be great if not already featured.

Half-forgotten cool lore deserves a good ole necro for the sake of the geeks, think this scene is more lax as long as it's not fresh produce with serious market value like 5e books and the creators are duly credited.

Re: Making the useless domains useful.
The problem lies in: if you give Haste for every Cleric regardless of domain, then also every Druid should get it by the same logic. Haste is mostly convenient for buffing. What if there was an item that allows casting of Haste 1/day with a CL 20 and a 30 min CD, reset on rest (so you can't stack t...

Re: Making the useless domains useful.
Give haste as an automatic to the cleric kit like FS. Reduce the domains to minor thematic bonuses that can be changed throughout a character's life in accordance with their deity. I just love the idea that Haste will just be a cleric spell for all clerics and whatever nerfs need to come in trade a...

Re: Protection Domain - Is it now useless?
As for Protection domain nerf, for the more casual players out there, how about just giving Invisibility as a spell? They still get to hang with the group unseen by most mobs for a healthy duration. I think some people are upset by how some nerfs focus on "competitive play", unfairly targeting thems...
