Going to have to agree with OP on most points here as a die-hard herbalism crafter on most of my characters. The dc delivery system of a roll vs a melee hit, or a grenade, or whatever is just kind of flawed like we see with spells. I think Dark Souls has a good poison system. Maybe, just maybe, it's nice if all things we need aren't available all the time. Maybe you need to look for them. Stock up. Trade with other players. Or do with our and roll your caffeine addiction withdrawal into your character.

It is a fallacy to claim that people who want to get to 30 quickly don't begin RP at level 3. These are not mutually exclusive. I may start RP at 3 and still want to get to 30 quickly. This shouldn't be a conversation we are having.

This is honestly what I was thinking. Immune to sonic, immune to cursesong which is powerful now, and most people done gear listen anyways. If your not a caster and don't have a bard in your party, this is a no brainer.

There are a few on there that have some nice pve crowd control effects, like confusion, mind fog (also nice for those will save imbues) thunder clap, and mass blindness. It is just a nice tool for when you are fighting a big group. I also use vampiric touch on my marauder for a little bonus health.
