Going to have to agree with OP on most points here as a die-hard herbalism crafter on most of my characters. The dc delivery system of a roll vs a melee hit, or a grenade, or whatever is just kind of flawed like we see with spells. I think Dark Souls has a good poison system. It is a fallacy to claim that people who want to get to 30 quickly don't begin RP at level 3. These are not mutually exclusive. I may start RP at 3 and still want to get to 30 quickly. This shouldn't be a conversation we are having.

This is honestly what I was thinking. Immune to sonic, immune to cursesong which is powerful now, and most people done gear listen anyways. If your not a caster and don't have a bard in your party, this is a no brainer.

There are a few on there that have some nice pve crowd control effects, like confusion, mind fog (also nice for those will save imbues) thunder clap, and mass blindness. It is just a nice tool for when you are fighting a big group. I also use vampiric touch on my marauder for a little bonus health.
