Re: skin color restrictions

These still aren't implemented? Been putting off making a wizard to have fun with the recent CL changes because of this. We've reviewed these suggestions and decided to enable colour 2 for them. That change was already supposed to be in, but your comment made me double check and there's been a typo...

Re: Adventure XP - pool size

I have a level 13 character with 25345 adventure XP. Note: this character is doing FREELANCE WRITS. EDIT: My current main left Skal at level 19 with a completely full XP pool (this was back in June 2023). They were on freelance writs, I did every single writ on Skal (including the infamous Speaking/...

Re: Quarter Ownership

I am a diehard social RPer, so while I don't need a ton of space, I do need something that can be made to look like LIVING space. My previous main lived for a year and a half real-time in one of the Great Oak one-room quarters, and it worked just fine for what I needed, meeting with small groups of ...

Another way is if I am Tom the spy and I rent a boat or purchase a House everyone will know I am really Bob and not Tom. ICly just like signing up for writs and the contract I would ICly use a pen name.

This has been repeatedly said to be very intentional.

Re: factions accross servers?

Faction changes are made on the subserver you make them on immediately, but they do not apply on other servers until a reset.

So if you have a faction hall in Cordor, you probably want to make all your changes on [CnP], so they take effect immediately in the area you most use.

Re: The Arcane Tower

The Tower should be a central focus for mages on the surface to gather, regardless of city of choice. What can be done to encourage that instead of splitting into 3 or 4 city-based much smaller groups of mages? Why would the mages of the surface congregate at the Tower instead of staying in their c...

Re: Roleplay on stealing / theft / pickpockets

One of the earliest Cordor start quests has you raiding a gang's camp and just killing everyone, so...yeah. We're basically all murderers. But beyond that, I think we've got an unfortunate chicken-and-egg situation. The "chicken" side is that we know that pickpockets are going to get murdered, but t...

Re: We need better rewards for grouping for dungeons

Step one, have runes spawn in regular dungeons. Not often, rarer than even mithril dust if possible, but enough where it randomly pops up from time to time. Step two, remove all runic chests. Make every dungeon that didn't have a runic chest beforehand impossible to enter at level 30. Make those th...

Re: Faction leaders need better rule-compliance tools

The best way to deal with this is reporting the issue yourself. As I said earlier, I know I can report it (and have), but the issue is that I can only report it if I notice . It would seem from the response I received that I am responsible for ensuring it does not happen on my watch, but I do not h...

Re: Faction leaders need better rule-compliance tools

As a faction leader you should be keeping an eye out for stuff happening in your faction and not encouraging it, absolutely, but really the correct course of action is to notify dms and allow them to resolve any issues rather than feeling the burden falls on you. The issue here is that I can only n...

Faction leaders need better rule-compliance tools

I asked earlier about who bears responsibility for ensuring that players don't use factions to cross-stream ; I received the answer that faction leaders do have responsibility for ensuring their faction members are not cross-streaming through the faction. However, we currently have woefully inadequa...

The Onus of Stream-Crossing Prevention in Factions

I will ask through an illustrative example: Say I play Robin Hood, who has the faction Band of Merry Men. Robin Hood admits Little John to the faction as matter of course. Later, Robin Hood is approached by Will Scarlet, who asks to join the Band of Merry Men as well. Say that Little John and Will S...

Re: Settlement Election Integrity

Lots of cool things are entirely shattered by the assumption the other player is evil, hates you, wants to destroy you. Idk if its ever true but thats just not a good way to approach everyone playing. This is the root of so many problems. The server only works if we're willing to largely assume goo...

Re: Settlement Election Integrity

Saying you have to be politically active in a settlement to vote discounts how easy it is to be frozen out of a settlements politics, or simply not see a way to get involved yourself. I would hope that if an active character is inspired by the change an election would bring they would be allowed to...

I usually base that decision on my build. My higher-strength and -constitution characters I tend to make larger-framed, and my smaller characters tend to have worse physical stats.

Give all summons nice DR and decent AC. Then strip the damage right back so that is HAS to come from the caster. How hard is it to not log in with a 5 month shelved PC just to vote for your buddy or against your enemy? Do better, people. This is how I think people's mindset must work. Re: Summon Adjustments

I think the biggest issue of this game is, that it's missing anything, which would motivate players to conquer the endgame content. Best items are from craft and the rune components dropping from EPIC chests are very weak motivation. Specially when the same can drop from easy epic dung and also fro...

I would love to see the use of stockades. Can we get some tomatoes to throw???

Rotten fruit is currently a craftable projectile! Herbalism, DC 11, does no damage but inflicts blindness. It'd be perfect for this.

Thrace was a great character, beautifully consistent in his flaws (which were handled expertly). Maethiel fighting the urge to burn his face off in her living room will always be one of my favorite memories of him...next to the absolute hilarity of the Sun Dwelf.

Re: What does the "setting" mean to you?

For me, a lot of the setting is in understanding the social norms of our characters' societies. We don't need to know every last detail of all the 1e-3e source books in order to respect the setting (and knowing everything leads to some of the problems Hazard mentioned: no character should know every...

Re: Lack of creative prisoner RP options for Surface

The main thing to remember, in my opinion, is which people are terrible because of things they are doing versus things they are . When we're talking about vampires, yuan-ti, kobolds, etc. they can't stop being what they are: threats to ordinary people trying to live their lives. There's not much to ...
