Peddler in the Elven Quarter of Guldorand is a Liar.

Tried to sell fire berries and ice berries to the peddler in the Elven Quarter of Guldorand. Price listed was 705 coin each. I got 382 instead and it wasn't apparent it wasn't giving me the proper amount until I noticed the coin amounts didn't add up.

Steps to reproduce
----------------------------
72 Appraise, selling goods that normally sell for full price at this elven merchant. Sold piece by piece, got only 382 coin in return

Expected result
-----------------------
Gain 705 coin per item as with every other peddler where displayed price = price attained

Actual result
-------------------
Got just over half, very unclear and wrong info

Out of curiosity, do you recall if anyone outside of your party approached the merchant and talked to them at any point during your selling?

In my experience, this will silently shift the sell price to whatever amount they rolled. To combat that, you just have to talk to the merchant again.

If it wasn't that, I'm not too sure!

I've tested this, and it has to be the party leader. Party Leader usurps whatever the character's Appraise is. So to use your appraise, you have to either be party leader, or drop party. Same as leadership.

I believe there was somebody else talking to them. I have not experienced that before though in other situations but maybe I just hadn't been paying much attention? That's good to know though if that -is- a cause.

And no they aren't in party. They were outside my party.

You said the Elven Peddler, in Guldorand behind the entrance to the high hall on the guldorand side of the server, right?

Correct.

Tested with Flameberries, Iron Bastard swords, a Wand of Death, and several other items. All sold for 458g per and I recieved the correct amount.

This does happen as well to the sale of player-made traps to the tinker in the UD. I have no idea what causes it.

I've experienced what neverwinternightly is talking about many times when not in a party. If another person opens the merchant window while you are selling, you will get their appraise value even though it still shows your own.

It happens too with retrieved traps at another trap buying peddler. He anounces price X, and gives only 1 gp whatever the trap is.
