Sithyrr'tyne (Hand Spinneret) and Shadowdancer Shadow Sneak Damage Problem

Post by Nagwag » Thu Jul 22, 2021 9:23 pm

Description of Bug Experienced:
The light crossbow Sithyrr'tyne (Hand Spinneret) gives a bonus of "+5d6 normal sneak attack" damage. The summoned shadow of a Shadowdancer gives a d6 of "improved sneak attack (feat)" per three levels of the Shadow when standing near it. But to do so, a shadowdancer has do have at least one d6 of normal sneak damage, otherwise the improved sneak attack is not applied. So each time the shadow comes near the non-rogue SD, it applies the +1d6 normal aside the improved feat. This seems to override the +5d6 of the crossbow.

Steps to reproduce the Bug:
In my case I have a Ranger 4 Fighter 4 SD 8 atm, so could just start equipping the Sithyrr'tyne. Build a non Rogue SD Drow, equip it, summon shadow, fight mobs, while the shadow moves in and out of range

Expected Result:
Bonus Sneak Damage by Level from the Shadow, AND the sneak from the weapon

Actual Result:
You have either +5d6 normal Sneak Attack without shadow in the featlist, +1d6 AND +5d6 in the featlist when you swap to the weapon while the shadow stands next to you, +1d6 normal sneak attack in the list after the Shadow moves out of reach and back in reach for him to appy his bonus.

Screenshot(s)
None, but it would just be the featlist with either

+5d6 Sneak

+1d6 Sneak
+5d6 Sneak

+1d6 Sneak

Additional Information/Notes
Swapping back and forth between different weapon and the xbow brings back the 5d6, until the shadow moves again, but thats VERY clunky.
