Potential Bug - Forest Gnome Sizing

Post by MRFTW » Mon Jul 26, 2021 7:22 pm

Description
==========

When forest gnomes set themselves to "small" at character creation, their model size is adjusted to be very small indeed.
However, when they hit "confirm" or whatever, they are reset to average size with no way to go back.
I said "potential" bug because I can't reliably check my size and using /height just tells me I've already set my height once.
It is worth noting that upon choosing forest gnome as a subrace and confirming it, height looks like it might be lowered more than the 20% it should.

Steps to reproduce
----------------------------
1 Level a class to 16 and wait for a patch to break the build
2 Use the minor award for a forest gnome
3 Attempt to set forest gnome size to "small"
4 Press confirm

Expected result
-----------------------
Smallest possible forest gnome, 80% of the height of the smallest rock gnome.

Actual result
-------------------

Forest gnome is very small indeed until you press confirm, at which point the forest gnome reverts to usual size with uncertain size comparisons to the smallest rock gnome.

Screenshot(s)
--------------------
Probably better to just test this, the longest part is waiting for your portrait folder to load.

Misc Notes
----------------

Forest gnomes get macas, animal language, sylvan, tracking and not leaving tracks (even in heavy armour) for 0 ECL
Ghostwise Halflings get ... macas?

Live or PGCC server? If Live, which?
------------------------------

Live, whichever server one picks their height and gifts and such in.
Replicated on PGCC

------------------------------

Big thank you for looking into this. A minor detail, I know, but you can't make a small race even smaller than the other small races without some fool min-maxing it.

EDIT: For pendantry's sake, since forest gnomes are only 80% of the size, the sizings would be as follows:

Small (-4 to -3.2%)
Below average ( -2.4% to -1.6%)
Average (-0.8% to +0.8%)
Above Average (+1.6% to +2.4%)
Tall (+3.2% to 4%)

A fix for this should be live within the next few days.

Bump, just made a forest gnome and the exact same thing happened.

Just wanted to check that this is 100% intentional, my inner munchkin cannot be constrained.

EDIT: On live server and PGCC

https://imgur.com/a/gOmvj7Z hopefully shows a bit better what's happening.

Now I understand what's the problem, yes. Will look into this again.

Thanks again, it was very hard to describe and I should've screenshotted in the first post.
