Bulk Gems Stacking, then Lost

I've suspected this of happening a few times, and finally caught it in the act as it were.
Description of Bug Experienced:
(please include information of what you did, that lead up to the bug, what you expected to happen there, and what actually happened, then move on to describe below:)
Put in 30 Phenalope raw gems, used a bulk recipe 1094, two of the 'crafting items' stacked, and when it was processed, it counted as only one item, subsequently losing the 10 gems to the ether.
Steps to reproduce the Bug:
Put in more than one set's worth of bulk gems, Use bulk gem recipe 1094, bug is not reliably reproducible, possibly lag-induced
Expected Result:
Get as many gems out as you get in
Actual Result:
Stacked item counts as one recipe, loss of reagents.
