Cavalier mounted AB/AC bonus removed at equip/unequip while mounted

The attack bonus and armor class modifiers are correctly applied while mounting the horse.
However if weapons or protective equipment are equipped or unequipped while mounted, the attack bonus is not applied to the changed AB and AC. My character will only have the AB and AC of the currently worn gear without any mounted bonuses.
My guess therefore is that the functions modifying AB and AC are called upon mounting, but not upon equipping or unequipping items while mounted.
