Got it teleporting out of Guldorand and to the Nexus falls. Running in place above the portal unable to move anywhere.

-makesafe does nothing. You just keep running in place. There was an announcement to make a note if it happened after one of the recent updates.

Having this occur as well. Warlock in the Iron Mines, just started happening after I transitioned down to the 4th floor.

Sometimes when I get this I just close the game and re-open it. One of the many enhanced features we've had since the migration to EE.

Having this happen more and more as well, exiting completely out of the game and relogging seems to fix it.

I actually noticed this happening after the change to not being able to transition back once entering a new map.

I personally love the change, so the few random times I find my character stuck just after transition is not a big deal, but I suspect that may be the culprit. But as everyone else has said, relogging solves the issue!

Personally I have had this happening since the update that introduced new Guldorand, however, I did notice the increase others reported, please make sure your server has restarted since my change to tracks regarding this.

It happens to one of my characters after they have been to the Druid stones area in the Crags.
Last time it happened (3-4 days ago) relogging only fixed it temporarily until the next area transition, then it happened again. Relogging yet again produced the same result, rendering me unable to play the character until the next server reset.

Have to exit out of the entire game itself, back to desktop. That fixes it for me.

I received it too, when transistioning from Guldorand Harbor district to Guldorand Gate area (both on guld server, so not the Surface side Harbor)

Dormant Character: Tabitha Fuzzypaw - Shelved, searching all corners for treasures and secrets.
Misty Scrollsinger - Still searching answers, but is now elsewhere

Rolled Character: Björn Njald - sailed on new adventures

Seems to me this is prone to happen more during busy hours when there's increased lag. At least this has been my observation as I play during quiet hours too, and it has been less likely to occur then.

I encountered this glitch as well, transitioning from the Logging Grounds into Westcliff.

Just encountered this bug leaving Soulhaven interior to the exterior on the way to Guldorand.

Something about the Freeport > Eagle Square transition seems to attract this bug. We had this happen to our whole group a few days ago.

I'll keep an eye/ear out for any more recent reports.

I've experienced both of these myself today. I've also passed through the same transitions with no problems.

Curiously, were you warded? I've only had this happen when I was warded, but I might be wrong.

This has happened quite a bit to me as well, but I want to add a curious detail: On my screen my character was locked running in place, but on my party member's screen my character was moving around as normal.

Sometimes I'm now seeing other people walking in place but not me myself, very odd...

Myself and my whole group were warded. In fact, come to think of it, we were all carrying wards that had been cast on Surface. We had just finished a long stretch of sailing, sold up at the Dockmaster, and were on our way to the jewelry/scroll vendors when we mass-crashed on transition.

Warded my and my summons' butts off, did 3 writs on surface with no issues at all (besides dispels).

Dismissed my summons, teleported to Soulhaven, got the bug -immediately-. I deliberately didn't rest before transitioning.

I do think it's linked.

The walking in place bug / sudden game crash is related to server transitions. The way to circumvent it, is to exit and re-enter the game after server transitions.

It also happens when you swap characters - for example : playing on Distant Shores -> wanting to test something on PGCC -> log into PGCC -> Walk in place.
If you restarted the game before swapping from distant shores to PGCC, you avoid getting bugged.

Always restart the game on server transitions.

Has this stopped for anyone else? I've stopped getting it completely in the last few days.

Ah, so this was the discord linked video?

Is this specific to the player's character? I've seen this occasionally, I think as recently as two or three days ago, but only on other characters and not my own. I generally restart the game to fix it.
