Intense Lag

Description of Bug Experienced:
Likely the development team is already aware of this, but I thought it prudent to post a formal bug report.
In the past couple of days, close to a week now - a few servers, underdark, surface, and cities & planes, have experienced a noticeable increase in lag, rubberbanding and freezes. This even at low population hours. I don’t know the status of distant shores.
I cannot say as to what causes this, but likely it has something to do with the recent updates or addition of content regarding the 20 year anniversary.
Steps to reproduce the Bug:
Login
Lag
Rubberband
Expected Result:
Smooth gameplay insofar as population is moderate to low
Actual Result:
Highly laggy gameplay even at low population hours
