Enchanting Pool Said Success and Lied

It gave me the prompt saying success, took my prayer. But the pool still ate my item. It was the enchanting basin in the corner of the Andunor Hub by the bank.

Are you sure someone wasn’t near the basin in stealth - taking the item out just after you enchanted it?

looks like it suceeded the first enchant with the prayer then you tried to enchante a second time that failed.. i think in the log
You lost 900 gp + piety
then lost 3k

Yep it looks like you tried a harder one right after and it went poof.
