Cloudkill - Multiple bugs
Description of Bug Experienced:
1. Cloudkill, when having reduced you below a specific CON amount (looks like either 8 or 9), will shoot you back up to that specific CON the next round. (For an example, Cloudkill reduces me to 7 CON. The next round I will be bumped back up to 8 CON.)
2. Cloudkill does not invoke the 50% movement speed decrease on entry.
Steps to reproduce the Bug:
First bug:
1. Place Cloudkill down
2. Wait in Cloudkill till you drop below 8 or 9 CON
3. Next round, your CON goes back up
Second bug:
1. Place Cloudkill down away from your victim or yourself
2. Walk into the Cloudkill
Expected Result:
1. Your CON continually lowers while you remain in the Cloudkill
2. You get a 50% movement speed decrease
Actual Result:
1. Your CON never lowers below a certain threshold
2. You don't get slowed ever
Screenshot(s)
None.
Additional Information/Notes
1. Did test using myself and another individual who I hostiled.
2. No immunities, buffs, or gear on myself or this other individual.
3. Failing or succeeding the Fortitude save has no correlation on whether your CON goes below the threshold or if you receive the movement speed decrease.
4. Solely tested on PGCC.

Re: Cloudkill - Multiple bugs
I can confirm that there's no slow for cloudkill on live, it's somewhat crippling to the spells use cases. The slow is listed as part of the spell on both the NWN wiki and the Arelith wiki, but is not present as part of the effects.

After checking the git commit history, I can safely say that Cloudkill hasn't applied a speed penalty in almost a decade. At this point the wiki should be updated, rather than the spell adjusted.
The CON penalty might be targets reaching the stat penalty cap.

I was figuring there must be a penalty cap lest Cloudkill would just kill a lot things in 4-5 rounds. Is there a page to read up on how that cap works? Couldn't find a NWNwiki page for it.

Penalty cap? Is that new? Because I used to kill bosses with cloud kill back in the day.Kalopsia wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 2:10 pmAfter checking the git commit history, I can safely say that Cloudkill hasn't applied a speed penalty in almost a decade. It's a server setting. Pretty high though, around 30.Aren wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 6:10 pmPenalty cap? Is that new? Re: Cloudkill - Multiple bugs
Oh, then this bug likely something else. My character's CON was at 14.

Stacking should work properly now. Closing this one!
