Alignment Divergence - Summoning (Gate)

Post by Yvesza » Mon Sep 19, 2022 10:57 am

Description
==========
When conjuring an Astra Deva (LG) as a NE character there is a 20% chance for it to turn hostile (Neutral to Lawful is 0% but Evil to Good is 20%) this should be negated by protection from Law / Chaos as is described on the wiki
"The three "protection from alignment" spells reduce this chance accordingly, 10% for the first, 20% for the second, and completely negating it with 30% at the third, provided you are warding against the alignment of the creature you intend to summon."
In theory this means that using protection from law provides a 10% reduction, protection from chaos pushes us to 20% and leaves us with a 0% chance of divergence and conjuring a hostile creature.
However, as far as I can tell we're being left with the full 20% of alignment divergence.

Steps to reproduce
----------------------------
Use protection from law / chaos to cast gate with 20% chance of divergence

Expected result
-----------------------
The summoned creature will be loyal

Actual result
-------------------
The 20% chance for divergence remains

Misc Notes
----------------
Protection from good / evil both work perfectly for this still, it's just law/chaos that aren't providing the benefits as outlined on the wiki.
