I don't know why or how but I've now had two high valued things disappear from my belongings.
The first was a Greater Hunting Bag
And now the second today was a Sorcerer Staff (The Last Focus one)
If a staff member could help me out I'd appreciate it
is your inventory full when you exchange items?
A couple non-bug possibilities:
If you're doing any kind of automatic equipment switch-out, if there is not a space in your inventory AS IT IS CURRENTLY ORGANIZED where all your items can fit (there's basically a split-second where your initial equipment and your subsequent equipment are both in your inventory and you are naked/empty-handed), they may be dropped to the ground. To prevent losing equipment to this, just keep an eye on your character's feet, and pick up anything that's dropped.
If you put items into storage - either a quarter chest or citizen storage - beyond their capacity, they will disappear at reset. To prevent this, check your combat log any time you interact with storage. If it's permanent storage, it will print out what your capacity is and how many items are inside.
If you acquire something in your inventory and the server crashes, if there has not been an automatic save between the acquisition and the crash, you will lose the item. To prevent this, type "-save" into the console after acquiring anything valuable, either looting it or trading for it.
Anothet way, if you move, lets say a fourtile softwood from a container to your inventory, and you have EXACTLY only room for that one, the game will "block" the four tile, to Reserve it, but will place it somewhere else, and if you dont have another 4 tile free, it will drop items from the first inventory, at the bottom furthest to the left. Any items there will be FORCED dropped.
I wonder if it's at all possible to have things replaced?
I owned at-least 3 greater hunting bags and now there's only 1.
I'm very perplexed.
never seen items restored when you have zero idea where you lost them.
This is going to sound wierd, but do you remember what time you lost the items?
The first bag and staff were lost when I origionally posted this thread.
The other two bags were lost on the 21st I believe
