Climbing Rope/Lasso

Post by Skibbles »

I have to confess.... I don't know the difference between these two items. Climbing is becoming more important, but I still don't know which I should be using.

From what I can tell they're both identical. One of my PCs has used a lasso for tossing across ravines and 'climbing' across, and I never felt the need for a 'Climbing Rope.'

Are these the same? Is it possible they can be rolled into one item called 'Rope'?

Most of my concern lies in that only the Lasso has a lightweight version as a tailoring recipe, and the normal rope is way too heavy for some characters.

Pls halp.

So we're very much on track.

The lasso is used for climbing spots themselves. The climbing rope is used to help party members climb only.

One was introduced before the other. They should (hopefully) both have the same utility for climbing, but I'm unsure the climbing rope can be used to capture creatures?

Was this changed with the most recent update?

If not, lasso cannot help with climbing, and climbing rope cannot attach to climbing spots. It gives an error message if you try.

I stand corrected. I really don't see a reason to have 2 rope items, personally. So I'll see if we can have both interchangeable.
