A tool to stop the spam advertises in the Forum

Post by The Man of the Moon » Tue Apr 21, 2015 9:29 am

Hello, Is anyone using a good firewall/tool to keep not spamming those annoying new advertises the forum has now?

In my home is a pain now try to post anything, as all get sabotaged by a waterfall of advertisings with no stop, that swallow my patience!

This encouraged me to only come into the forum from my work, where the firewall and security policies keep them away.

Any tip about what to use?

A couple of useful links to get you started. Sorry for not actually discussing but it's almost 5AM here. Maybe after some sleep

You know Scimiter, those would work for people with /their own forums/.
He's getting spam on Arelith's, which either means ... he's got adware, or the hotspot he uses had adware.

Easy solution: Install Adguard on your browser.
http://adguard.com/en/adguard-adblock-b ... rview.html

Slightly more difficult: Run a anti-spy/ad/malware program, such as SAS.

(Go for FREE, don't enter the trial even if offered)

Another choice is Malwarebytes.

Yes, there are no ads on the forum. If you're seeing them, you have a problem on your PC.
xkcd.com is best viewed with Netscape Navigator 4.0 or below on a Pentium 3±1 emulated in Javascript on an Apple IIGS at a screen resolution of 1024x1.For security reasons, please leave caps lock on while browsing.

All I needed to do was disable some extensions I got automatically added while trying to find and see the manga serie Code: Geass

Just sent them into the garbage barrel!

Glad you got rid of it. Soooo didn't read OP in the right context since it was almost five in the morning and my brain was in programmer mode. I somehow read it as if you were trying to secure another forum that you Admin for.

You are aware that Crunchyroll has a lot, and I mean a LOT of region locking?
There are times where certain sites beat CR. The problem, ofcourse, isn't in CR. It's in the japanese studios who refuse to license, or work properly with foreign countries.

I wanted to give my thanks also, as I was experiencing same issues and more on my windows side like hearing ads in the background with no active windows to close the adds, even while my browser was closed, malwarebytes certainly cleaned everything on the windows side of my mac.
