Who are the "Chosen Ones" of Benwick?

While it's evident they're some roaming security guard for the ruin of Benwick, what exactly draws them there despite the obvious odds of them dying? Assuming they haven't sought the Radiant Heart or something equal through a DM plot, why haven't they?

They cannot leave their service..

They predate the destruction of Benwick Keep and have been there before the Keep has been destroyed. Best ask around there are still characters IC around that should have knowledge of this.
So best ask around IC about this.

Ah gotcha. Found it odd since there was some easily accessible info about them that suggested they should be gone. Wanted to make sure they weren't some afterthought NPC that were just left in existence.

Sadly, one of the downfalls of Arelith is that if a builder ever has some sort of Lore in their head for what they make, they rarely (if ever) codify it and archive it. A lot of lore only exists because some older player might still play and was present for an event or something.

I prefer that this falls down to players of characters involved in such events. The Fall of Benwick in particular has been documented quite well from both "sides" (I'd suggest searching various libraries). Even follow up story arcs (e.g. the Sword of Benwick and now I think the Dawn Crusade, though I have not followed it) have records of it. However, there is a lot of resources for major events IC created by the team: books in the loot mateix, IC info in areas, even Cordor museum shows quite a bit of history that would otherwise be lost.

The Chosen Ones were originally found in The Last Bastion on Avernus. Might be some characters IC remember something about them?
