Failing to disarm despite beating DC

When disarming on my Drow wizard character I fail disarming epic level traps despite beating the DC to disarm it. Does anyone know why that could be?

Non-rogue characters are limited to disabling DC's up to 35.

Better to beef up Recover Trap despite the +10 DC increase.

I think where it is written is under NWN Wiki (base game) either under Disable Trap or Rogue.

And yes. You can still "Recover" traps. The DC is just higher.

I had no idea about this it explains why every wizard has to take a pixie along then as my wizard had a huge disarm skill and I was really annoyed about having to summon a darn pixie to do something they should of been able to do.

Damn. I played this game for... what? 18 years? Never crossed my mind to try to recover a trap on a non-rogue character.
