Sencliff Henchmen

Post by Apothys » Thu Jan 21, 2021 5:48 pm

Hello.

I've a pirate with a noble reward. I've gone around the island and none of the henchmen are interested in aiding me? All seem locked behind a Leadership skill.

Do I have to have the leadership skill to gain a henchmen even with the Noble Award on Sencliff?

Thanks for reading.

Yes. These henchmen require leadership. They also only accept low-level requests. My (at the time) L13 pirate was only able to hire one of them despite his leadership in the 20s.

I have to say, I'm not really surprised to see that the Sencliff henchmen aren't overly impressed with titles of nobility. Something about the cut-throat "free people" of Sencliff just seems to not jive well with landed gentry and the like

Or you could be the son or daughter of a infamous pirate equal to nobility in many ways.

I think my question is, I thought it was possible to get henchmen with the nobility feat without having to invest in leadership. Its not easy with low skill point builds.

To my knowledge only the UD Henchmen don't, at present, require Leadership. This is very likely subject to change.

Speaking of henchmen, do we know what is the design purpose of locking henchmen hiring in general under Leadership? To make the skill more worthwhile? To enable "commander" builds?

Or was the overal plan to enable henchmen to everyone but Leadership skilled do not have to pay as much?

There are henchmen in the module that require nobility (these are generally nobility themed), there are those that require leadership (the skill is specifically concerned with inspiring others to follow you) and there are some that have no requirements at all (henchmen that come with ownership of a specific guild, or an elected position)

While more will be added, they are not intended for everyone, no.

so just to confirm, right now there is no Sencliff henchman that is useable with Noble award?
