Question about Spot and Shifting

Post by Rattus_norvegicus99 » Fri May 15, 2015 6:21 pm

I am curious. If one is disguised in shifted form - say "Werewolf" - can others see through the disguise just as easily as if they were not shifted.

If one is shifted into, say, werewolf form, or has cast the polymorph spell and is shifted as an umberhulk, does spot work as it normally would on a "looks"? I thought with the characters shifted, they would be a lot harder to see through the disguise and was curious how that worked.

Only one way to find out. I will say though, every polymorph shape automatically gives no information on a *looks* check (even when not disguised), probably with the exception of a rakshasa's -polymorph since they are not mechanically polymorphed as far as NWN is concerned.

My guess is that a werewolf's -polymorph would behave the same way, with every *looks* check returning the text about not being able to tell anything about the character.

Correct. Rakshasa shapeshifting does not count as a true polymorph, which is why they get a +8 Bluff bonus.

So that goes for all -polymorph aspects save for Raks? Dragons, wolves and such?
