Secret knowledge of the mechanical animator

Question about this secret.. does it do anything more than Greater transmutation, it does say that it can construct a range of powerful automatons? Or is it just a waist of a feat if you already have greater transmutation?

It is a waste of a feat if you have GSF: Trans.
