Scroll case - show to another character

Is it possible to show contents of scroll case without giving it to another character?

The reason for asking is that the scroll case has a feature where it lists spells character does not yet know at the top of the list with orange color. So the case could be used for spell exchange if it can be "shown" to another character without letting them take the scrolls.
